Sounds a little crazy with that jaw harp and later the trumpet going through your modular

Hello! Do you think the Befaco could handle a Eurorack audio levels? Was wondering if it could be use for a ducking effect by sending it a kick signal (from a eurorack module/level) to get the negative envelope output from it into a VCA input for the ducking effect. Would this work or is the Eurorack level audio going to damage it or not work well? Thanks

That's a good question! I'm pretty sure it would be fine and shouldn't damage anything, but it's always a good idea to ask the manufacturer if you have concerns like that. Since eurorack level is hotter than the line/mic level signals expected by the input, I would recommend starting with the GAIN all the way down, then gradually bring it up until you can see the LEDs lighting to around the yellow point. That would definitely work with the envelope followers on a kick to produce the ducking sidechain effect with a VCA. Another way you could accomplish this would be a dedicated envelope follower module, or a slew limiter.

@@ScottMFR Thanks for the reply! I already sent an email to Befaco with this question but meanwhile found your video and thought I might ask you as well, eheh. The slew limiter approach I hadn't thought of and quite seems interesting, I'll give that a try! Thanks again and best regards

@@gdrdm yeah I’ve used a channel of maths for this purpose and it’s quite effective.
