It will work if you read directions and do it carefully. Solid advice. You're a fun, positive instructor for DIY. Thanks for taking the time to put these videos out!

Rampage is my most used module, first euro kit I ever built for myself, it rocks! Great video Sam!

This was my first module with the even vco and i have to say that it is awesome!! Also be careful if you get the kit, it is quite a chore to build it because of the bijillion components it has!!!

Another ace video Sam. A great tip for getting the LEDs flush with the front panel, that you may already know, is to put masking tape on the panel where the LED comes through. That way the LED doesn't peak through and it's also held in place by the sticky to help you solder. Keep up the good work! I have a commission to build a Rampage just now for a mate!

For someone with no experience, (who plans to practice soldering first on something else), roughly how many hours would this module take to complete from opening the bag to turning it on? 3? 6? 8?

Just out of curiosity, what were those two 1/4 watt resistors doing at 4:30 on the right side of the board? Anyways, great video, if I did go eurorack I probably would have gotten some Befaco kits. They look pretty rad, but I went 5U instead. Tons of cool DIY stuff there as well.

As colour blind/lazy person, I'd advise just getting a multimeter or a Chinese component checker. It'll do the hard work for you.

yeah it was a sketch as fuck soldering iron. bought it in the previous video for 5 quid. after this video. just filed the stub back into a tip again. but yeah that was speedy. and yeah i was using an iron sponge the whole way through too. but the fact is its possible. to do it with a 5 quid soldering iron

@@LOOKMUMNOCOMPUTER get some rosin off ebay from china for a buck and a brillo pad. keep soaking it in fresh solder ever few joints while u work. ive had tips last hundreds of circuits before they started to corrode using that method

Psst, considering your (unless im mistaken) fairly standard non temperature controlled soldering iron, never put your soldering iron on your electrical components, there's a fair chance you will 'cook' them causing them to act different then intended (more/less resistance, damage IC's, etc etc) even more important then usual because your working with audio imo. Even though alot of sources recommend against it, ive found that with a very thin tip that you keep clean, can put solder onto the tip and have it drip onto the connection point and create a perfect connection without ever heating up the component, you might wanna try that on one of your simpler builds once to compare if it makes a difference, i have a feeling it will.

wtf are you even talking about dripping solder to prevent heat? do you even solder bro? the heat isn't going to cook anything unless you've gotten it so hot there is obvious damage to the board. the whole point of soldering isn't just to glue the components in place. your creating a seamless bond between the connections that is as atomically one solid material. eliminating any oxidation. dripping would create cold solder joints everywhere and the circuit would have a very short lifespan.
