Fedor, when I started learning Russian last June I checked out several channels, including yours. After a year, I've decided I prefer your style to all the others. 👍

Loved your Numbers set of 3 videos. Now I know my Russian numbers - hope I continue remembering them for a while. By the way, in British numbering (not commonly seen these days), 1,000,000 is one million, 1,000,000,000,000 is one 'billion' (one million million), one trillion is one million 'billion' = 1,000,000,000,000,000,000 - pretty similar to the Russian system.
@JWPemperor5 жыл бұрын
4:12 until 5:37 this is the same in Dutch (miljoen - miljard - biljoen - biljard - triljoen triljard) Probably Peter the Great took this when he came to the Netherlands

Same for the Germans. 1 million = 1 Million 1 billion = 1 Milliarde 1 trillion = 1 Billion

G'day Fedor. I just put 2 numbers into google translate here they are. { 223,000} AND {223,576} I chose them because one would definitely give the answer of тысячи and the other, if I use the very last number would give the answer of тысяч. But it didn't, it gave the thousands as тысячи. So I have come to the conclusion that the ending won't depend in the "very last number of the big number " (eg in my case it was 6) but it WILL need the ending to be that for the actual last number that describes "how many thousands (which in my case was still the 3) . So am I correct in saying that the ending is the last number of the thousands part of the number? Once again, thanks for you videos they are awsome. (And may I be so bold as to once again ask for a video to help "slow learners like me" find some clever way to unravel and use the family of свой please. )))))
@BeFluentinRussian6 жыл бұрын
Yes! So, the form of thousands only depends on the last digit of thousands, while all the rest depends on the last digit of numbers.

I do not know where this information comes from, but I speak for everyone who learns the language. I'm Russian, so I know what I'm saying. The gradation presented by the author of the video is incorrect! 1 000 000 - миллион - million 1 000 000 000 - миллиард - billion 1 000 000 000 000 - триллион - trillion 1 000 000 000 000 000 - квадриллион - quadrillion 1 000 000 000 000 000 000 - квинтиллион - quintillion I hope I can help someone with this.

You count as French and more or less like Portuguese... Probably it is US and UK who are different!

UK used to count like this too but switched to American system in the mid-20th century (officially only in 1974 though)
