It's the most complex tense in Russian, but it can never compare with complexity of those in English. So, learn it now and know it forever.

Man, so concise and to the point. I mean, when I first learned this years ago, it wasn't that difficult. It's just that I had to cross reference a few different books and such to really nail it down. Watched this video for the first time today and I am bummed no one tried your challenge at the end ... But I just gave it an honest effort with Спать and I must have messed something up because none of these are words. Don't worry I have been studying Russian on my own for a long time and you make awesome videos - I just get confused when people technically equate English with Russian - because I never had a college education in English.... I must have misunderstood the principle teaching in this video - it sounded like: " In Russian, verbs happening in present tense have these endings, and you change the ending in these same ways each time for these verbs when they are used in their various ways- depending on the initial verb's ending..." ... well... I'll come back and watch this video again. Thanks Fedor!

If anyone is watching in 2019, does Бог оченЬ любит тебя sound correct? I'm using a He conjugation for God and the informal you. I'm not sure if there's more than one Russian love verb (the Greek Bible has about four different "love" verbs). Also, when I learned Spanish, I remember that he, she, and you (third person formal) used the same ending when you conjugated a verb. In Russian, it looks like the formal version of you is a different ending than he or she.
@pierreabbat6157
@pierreabbat6157 5 жыл бұрын
Russian does the same as French: tu=ты, vous=вы. The Spanish form corresponding to вы is vosotros, but that's always informal plural. Some dialects use vos with a singular referent, but the formal usted(es) taking a third-person verb doesn't correspond to anything in French or Russian.

So стоать - to stand and стоить - to cost are stressed on different syllables. But стоать is 2nd conjugation BUT стоить is first conjugation wi the accent on the о. Is this an exception? Or how and why is this so?
@brandonmorehouse7507

First, it would be стоять and стоить. To the point, stress doesn’t directly have anything to do with its conjugation class, and both of them are considered to be 2nd conjugation anyways.

I'm from Russia, so I couldn't pass up your comment. You almost completed the task, but you still made a few mistakes. The first mistake was misspelling the word "Она" (She) Your second mistake: The word "любить" has the root of the word "люб", so the letter "и" in the word "любиат" was superfluous. Correct spelling: Они любят (root "люб" + suffix "ят")
