You know, I used to think that that the most useful videos for me were ones entirely in Russian, usually slow Russian or TPRS. But for learning *vocabulary*, or more accurately for "cementing" vocabulary, i.e. really committing words and phrases to memory, this pairing of Russian with English in the context of the situation (in the bedroom, in the bathroom, holding the frying pan), with the subtitles seems to be VERY effective. Thanks!

Very useful video. FYI, when portable (non-desktop) computers were invented they were bulkier and just part of the top section opened. These were called laptops (because they were meant to sit on your lap). Then came the lighter versions that open like a paper notebook. These are technically called notebooks, but the word didn't stick and everyone continued to call them by the earlier versions name, laptops.

Hello, I heard that learning Russian is just a simple as learning vocabulary, and you dont need to learn grammar. Is this true or false?
@alexakilov26985 жыл бұрын
It's false. You need to learn grammar as well, because there are different tenses and cases.
@Wallhackingplusesp5 жыл бұрын

@regular-joe5 жыл бұрын
It's just an opinion, but when you film yourself talking and looking offscreen, it seems awkward and uncomfortable. There's not a live audience that you need to scan and make eye contact with, so please consider looking directly into the camera that you're going to use the footage from, so that the viewer feels you're speaking to them. As I said, just my opinion. Thanks for the work you put into your videos, they help a lot.
