Ahh thank you! I watched your Ariel video and her hair seemed to fix a lot faster than my Elsa doll, so it’s reassuring to know that different dolls in the collection react differently! I will keep on with the boil washing then!

First comment 🙋🏻maybe in future try the flat iron method too as the animators dolls don't all have the same hair type that's why you may find that the boil wash works better on some of them than others hope I'm not coming off as rude 🙈

Hi you're not rude at all. Yes I've noticed the differences in each doll's hair. As long as I can detangle and comb it thru, I'm happy. Thanks for the suggestion of the flat iron. I'll give a try.

Great video! Do you have any hints for getting off ink marks that the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser does not get off? Also, is there anything that can be done for articulated dolls that have loose limbs? I found a beautiful doll, but she is so loose that she could be a marionette. LOVE all these videos! You are such an inspiration and a great teacher! Thank you!

Thank you! and You're welcome! The best way I found to remove ink from vinyl dolls is 100% pure acetone or you can rub a dry erase marker on the ink then use 100% pure acetone. If that does not work use Oxy (acne cream 10% benzoyl peroxide). For dolls with loose limbs, it depends on what type of doll it is. Is it a BJD? Typically, I remove the head and I look down thru the neck to see how the limbs are joined. Sometimes it's as simple as using new elastics.

Definitely don't take the head off if you're not sure you can get it back on. I'm not sure how to tighten the limbs of dolls that are not strung.

I thrifted an animator pocahontas and her hair is so fried on the bottom even the boil method didn't straighten it out 😕

Oh No! That's really too bad. I love Pocahontas! if she were mine, I would trim her hair, even turn her into a boy, re-root or even do a wig. I've never tried a flat iron but that is also an option.

What temperature do you use for the water?

great question, I use a coffeemaker to heat the water and keep the water at a constant (hot coffee) temperature.
