I'm a tradesman, and although I sometimes cringe and scream "NOOOOOOOO" at the screen, I can't help but be impressed with your cojones. You get in there and have a go at everything. It may not be perfect, or how it should be done, but YOU did it and you are proud of what you have achieved and so you should be. BUT, being an Electrician, please, PLEASE get an expert to fix your wiring upstairs. That cabling is not safe and is not designed to be swinging in the breeze. It is most likely solid cable and not flexible ... it could fail.

In a world full of dystopian and bland cookie cutter homes, your house and cabins are such a breath of fresh air. From different paint colors, to lots of textures and decor with a story to tell you have really made it feel homey. Not everyone can accomplish that. For a lot of my life I lived in my parent’s house they built in 2006. It was extremely well built, to the point where there was no quirks, no variation. Everything is just so “normal”. And when comparing it to my grandma’s old farmhouse, an old shack they bought in around 1954 and added onto multiple times to make it what it is now; that is what feels more like home to me and what I desire and am drawn to. Soon, God willing, I’ll be moving to my own old farm house too. :) very excited

I love that you are building a company that doesn't necessarily need you to be a YTer forever. It's really wonderful to have witnessed so much growth and consciousness about being influential to others, without being an "influencer," if that makes sense. To see someone set and achieve goals, including going through the learning process it takes, is the type of role model everyone needs. Go, Hannah! ♥️

I found her back in her Walter days and getting tips for setting up my own Rig for camping adventures. But then we moved off grid with our timing together. I was devastated then too though because that was a big chapter I enjoyed. Yet here we are, she’s always a step ahead of me in my simiar rackets and always the inspiration I need, aka. kick in the @$$, to get started. We’ve all grown so much as a family here and looky dat, apparently there’s nothing we can’t do. 💪👏🥰

Hey, Hannah! I found your videos on May 17th this year, (my birthday) when I was absolutely spiralling on my bed at 5 am, in the midst of a panic attack. I picked up my phone to try to find something I could distract myself with and KZbin randomly recommended me your channel. Not only did your videos calm me down and make me smile, but they got me hopeful, once again, for a future in which I live in a little cottage in the middle of the woods, happy and alone. You are an absolutely beautiful presence, you inspire and bring comfort to so many. Never stop doing what you do, you make all of us feel good and confident in our own skin. Thank you a million times. ✨✨

You think like I do, it starts with an espresso machine on a bar cart and ends with an entire wall unit 😅. The dining table and chairs are perfect for that house... Anything new and matchy matchy would look ridiculous! Just like the way you did your pantry- No drywall, just the bare wood. No one walking through that house now would ever know the pantry hadn't been there for years and in my opinion, that's exactly the way it should be. ❤

Hannah has been a huge inspiration for me for YEARS - all the way back to the van days. She moved into a van and showed me I could too. She bought the cabins and started these huge projects and showed me I could too. Now she's in the homestead and it's just gorgeous. She was brave and put her whole life on the internet for others to see and I thought, "so can I," and so I did! I can't wait for my own spaces to feel like this. I'm years behind Hannah but that only serves to keep me motivated seeing all of her hard work pay off.

HANNAH.... FYI... b ark mulch is super flammable, and you just put 8n a fire ring beside your new bark mulch... Maybe consider crushed gravel instead? 2ould be a good alternative. My friend manages a mall, where bark mulch was installed in all of the landscaping surrounding the parking lot... And they have had to buy their own water truck😊because visitors flick their cigarettes... And they get little brush fires all around their huge parking area.... And even though they removed the bark mulch, it had biodegraded (degraded? ).... It had broken down into the dirt.... So even though they tried to remove it, the dirt still lights on fire.... So while your bark mulch is still fresh and new... It's a good time to rethink it... And come up with a good plan for long term as the firepit seems like an awesome must have. Anyways, may their mistake not be yours.... And the bark mulch is still really good for other projects... Like pathways in the veggie garden (with landscape fabric under)... Or a rock edging on your driveway... With bark mulch edging around plants.... Or.... The ideas are endless.... Anyways, watch out for flames/sparks and bark mulch.... The spark settles into the bark mulch, and the fire spreads UNDER the top surface of the barkmulch... Like little tiny fire caves under the surface..... Like here in BC Canada.... Same thing happens here on the forest floor after forest fires... The fire continues to burn underground... In little puts... And the firefighters sometimes fall through while fighting fires or while clearing after a fire

@hannahleeduggan 19:50 For the door, why don’t you just make a fake stained glass window design on the glass using white glue & food colouring? You can paint a cute design on it (masking off sections with tape or vinyl…if you have a vinyl cutter like a cricut machine). If you ever change your mind, you can wash it off..so it won’t be permanent. But you can personalize the design and have privacy.

Looking at the culmination of everything you have done so far, it’s just gorgeous! Absolutely love it! May I only say one thing-watch the wisteria vines you are wanting to grow on the arbor. We did that and once it started growing it took over quickly, it grew so much, so big, so fast that it broke some of the arbor pieces, we constantly had to trim it back and, even though I love bees and such, the bees and wasps would attack us when we were sitting under it minding our own business. It was great for shade but was destructive to our arbor. I just don’t want to see any of your hard work ruined.

Also, thanks for returning the English ivies to their pots AND for looking for native wisteria instead of going for the non-native invasive varieties. You’ll still have to be vigilant about keeping the native stuff in check, but the risk of losing your house to it isn’t nearly as high.

I love every single renovation you’ve made (on both the homestead cabin and the original cabin). I remember being SO jealous of your lofted bedroom in the original cabin! My one suggestion for the homestead cabin is maybe consider frosted window film for the master bathroom doors? Easy to apply, inexpensive, and not an intrusive eyesore of curtains. Keep your towels for drying off and not blocking windows. 😉

It really has been though, you’ve helped me build my own confidence as a singleton to do it myself too. It’s so flippin’ liberating when you can look at it and say, Hey, I did that! Have a great time in California and enjoy not having to film your adventures. Cheers from Eastern Canada.

It is fantastic and though you say you are lucky no-one sees the amount of intrusive hard work you have to put in to the filming, editing and lack of privacy to get what you have. It is hard work and you deserve all the beautiful things you have. Well done. xx

You're absolutely right, that you 'forget' all you've accomplished after doing a continual stream of small and not so small projects. When you reach my age you look back, sometimes with regret regarding limitations you're currently suffering, but when you can see the journey of accomplishments it provides satisfaction and appreciation of a life well spent. Props to you! You've given us so much, at the same time that you've been pursuing your dreams and goals. God bless you!

I’m building a barndominium and have gotten pretty discouraged at the costs of everything. You have given me hope and inspiration to keep going. I’ve been doing a lot of the painting on my own and totally stink at it. I just need to keep at it.

You have been a major inspiration to me over the past couple years. I am just figuring out how to do basic things like drill into a wall and hang shelves, but you give me the courage to learn by doing. Especially as a woman who has been told that these are “man” things. Seeing you dream and then do, encourages me to figure out my own “what if” “one day” dreams and take the first step toward them. Hoping to learn to sew and build a few beginner pieces of furniture in the near future. Thanks for sharing your life, which in this day and age is no easy feat and takes a lot of courage and resilience!

I am currently saving up to move to the mountains here in Catalonia and I have to say this is so far the closest idea to what my dresm house would look like. Thank you for making it into a real tangible thing so that I can build up the vision board in my head!!!

Omgosh! You transformed!!! Your home👏🏾🍾🎉. It’s so beautiful with so much character. I remember finding your page and watching the beginning stages bc your personality and style is just so fresh & just you. But I hope to have something like it. Without the cabin style or cold winters and snow or mice or that much wood lmaooo😭but I would love for me and my boyfriend, soon to be husband have a nice lake house version. & what I mean is just the coziness of our home ❤

Build a balcony where you have the french doors leaning against the window. It will be so nice if you build a screened balcony or terrace to enjoy it even in the winter months! ❤❤❤

This tour has inspired me so much! I'm hoping to buy my grandparents land from them. They've been on their farm for 50 years, so it feels like home to me. And I don't want our family to lose it once they're gone. It was priced out with the assumption that the home would be demolished because it's so old and not in the best of shape. The exterior looks a lot like yours. I think if I can get a contractor that tells me the foundation is salvageable I'll try to restore the home. Your home is breathtaking.

I think I stumbled upon your video's right about two years ago. Coming out of a 13 year relationship and moving house and start over by myself; where I used to think before Hannah video's "I'll hire a guy" after following your badassary for the last years I'm trying to figure out "can I do this myself?" now, your video's really inspired to do things myself. You really are a freaking badass, your home is so so lovely, your venture with Lupine Lane is so so lovely and I hope you keep up the KZbin career because you have a longterm fan overseas. Love from the Netherlands!

Those French doors in the bedroom.... Are you able to build a deck there? An upstairs deck off the bedroom? With a screen porch below... Like the screen porch at your cottage....... It could even have a screen porch vestibule as well on the upstairs deck.. Vestibule with a glass roof.... so you could even sleep outside... Under the stars.... Rain or shine... All summer

Hannah, you've done an amazing job on the house! I still remember watching you when you were in the van full-time before you bought the first 2 cottages! I can't get over the fact you've been in this house 2 years now! It seems unreal lol. Your hard work has definitely paid off! I enjoy all of your videos but my favorites have been the past few recent ones where you pressure washed the house. It's so GORGEOUS with the outside wood now showing its true color! I'm glad at the end you said you're proud of it because you ABSOLUTELY should be proud of yourself with all the transformations and remodeling you've done!
