A great addition to your home. The kids will love it. We installed a fibreglass in ground pool about 12 years ago. The kids have grown up with it and now the grandchildren are using it. They are pricey but worth it for the memories we have acquired. I’m not surprised with the cost as ours, in Melbourne, was quoted at a basic price of $35,000 for a 9m x 4m pool. We upgraded in floor cleaning system, a large gas heater, solar heating and an 8 person spa. The total cost was in excess of $76,000. At the time it caused a few squabbles between the wife and I but she is happy I insisted on the upgrades as I now have medical issues preventing me from cleaning or maintaining the pool. With the upgrades it looks after itself. I get a pool guy around once a year to look after the chemical balance and any other stuff I can’t do. Lugging around bags of salt, etc is beyond my abilities now.

Nice work mate, appreciate the honesty with cost. Might be an idea to lose the weed mat before planting. It will do more harm than good if you leave it in. If you’re worried about weeds better off using cardboard and mulch.

Great job. Impressed how the fence turned out. Let’s see how long the composite timber lasts. I’ve seen conflicting comments about them. The tiles are beautiful. My opinion on pools when we bought our home: most are too small to swim. We saw too many homes with tiny pools that are only good for very young children. We wanted one where you can swim in as we age. We ended up buying a home without a pool as they were a hindrance and we have more yard space instead and the kids love it. I remember one home had a nice lap pool (about 20m long) which was fantastic but the location wasn’t ideal. Do people use their small pools regularly once the kids get older?
@gold4leaf

good size family pool, and the decking is a nice contrast to the tiles . only comment you may find the seaspray coloured fence and shed will create a lot of reflected heat and glare, we had primrose colorbond fencing , so we spray painted them woodland grey (a colorbond colour) and the glare and reflected heat was dramatically reduced

Base price of the pool alone is $39328 which I found competitive with another installer from our of town.@@simpletonballsack

For those of us not electrically inclined. Why the need to earth the pool?
@WillmannElectrical
@WillmannElectrical Жыл бұрын
@@DodgyBrothersEngineering It's cause any electrical fault has a much higher potential to kill in a wet environment - lowers the resistance of the skin. Everything within 1.25m needs to be bonded to the earthing system of the properties electrical system, that way if a conduit breaks in the slab and freakishly comes in contact with a metal exposed part it will trip the RCD/CB. If the same situation happens and the metal part isnt earth bonded, that part will be potentially deadly to touch.

In reference to your comment Running this pool on magnesium While I have seen that system run on magnesium, it is not specifically made for magnesium And is your comment I don’t know a lot about it that is a very common that leaves pool consumers down what’s called the pool barrel After 10 years, they get completely burnt out with all the advice and all the sixes and all the repairs while those fixes and repairs might’ve been appropriate and relevant, it’s not joined up as a holistic approach What exactly are you after because generally most call consumers don’t understand everything that they’re after Nae let the conversation take its own course, and they disconnect with the process of that transaction We all have different ways of informing ourselves about subjects that we know we are not informed about which is great. You already said, I don’t know a lot about it and as a tradesperson you’re better off, knowing yourself that you don’t know about something, then assuming yourself that you do so well done 👍 What I do, sometimes when I can’t tell an item apart, and they all say the same thing Have a look in your own area for an independent consultant that is able to sit down with you and what are you exactly after and having a look at your pool? What would he have done differently to make it perform a little bit better? I can already see some issues That I would’ve done different, but then again I do do most things extremely different in my pool career and my personal life
