Before and After - Elevators at Crowne Plaza, Clayton MO

The Crowne Plaza in downtown Clayton has been one of my most-visited locations over the years. I've visited this property solo, and with Dieselducy, Cannycart, Streetcar1743, Alpaljl, SchindlerHaughton, and CVE9120. Seriously. When I heard the hotel was modernizing their elevators, I figured I had to go back and get some before/after footage. And I'm glad I did. To show the changes, I used footage from my many past visits to the property.

They should have used something to make it look old like CJ Anderson and how they make there panels look old but the way they made the Doors look on the outside look like they didn't even think of what they were doing if you know what i mean

***** The mirrored doors on the outside completely clash with the hallways! My only guess is that they are planning to eventually renovate the hallways to match, but why?

I prefer a colorful cab rather than this. BTW, this is a Schindler 6400NA mod on the second elevators I saw.

I think I was the person who told you about this modernization originally. I never rode the old dover but I did ride the old Bemiston elevators. I hate that those were modernized

It could've been worse. These could've gotten white series 7 mods! At least it's the newer series 4 so it's not as bad but still.

I’ve stayed at this hotel before! I think they’ve redone some of the hallways by now. I filmed both main banks of elevators and I may post them eventually. Gotta do a face reveal first though.

The mod is OK... I think the older one was a bit better though :(... I like the modern look though!

Schindler did a VERY nice job on the 8-story high risers but still it's a shame to see good old otises and dovers go into the dump

Modding the Dover...okay, this one looks better. THe Otis elevators.....Totally unnecessary and took away some of the charm of this hotel.

And the worst part in my opinion is that the new elevators in no way matched the style of the rest of the building, unless if they were planning on renovating the rest of the hotel that went to a similar style the new elevators have.

Just HORRIBLE mods! That boring mirrored cab doesn't blend very well with the wodden walled corridors and looks rather dull. They should have at least leave the original cab alone and replaced the fixtures.

Uphoisting Experiences by Technicalboy3000 Series 4 INSTALLATIONS use that BIG Rectangle "boggy" indicator. But Series 4 mods use ACME indicators.
