Seems like those condos had robust shear walls and thankfully the motion occurred in such a way as to rock the building back as it was teetering with frequency. It's surprising anything survived the XII to be fair. Aftershocks being probably pretty strong if a Level XII event happened would level the rest, though. Seeing the buildings temporarily help support each other with having each part collapse toward the center was neat though in a couple of the earlier ones. Idea for a future video sir since we both like skyscrapers. Can you do say, a 40-60 story building but construct it generally identically in design save the structural type. For example while no way to do a straight masonry load-bearing structure that tall, you could do: --Column + Beam Traditional Steel Frame (spaced throughout like Chrysler / ESB) --V or X Steel Reinforced Trussed Frame --All-Steel Frame --All Reinforced Concrete Traditional Frame --Steel Frame but Reinforced Concrete Core / Shear Walls --All Reinforced Concrete Frame + RC Core / Shear Walls --Steel Tube-in-Tube Design (most modern mid-height skyscrapers) --Buttressed Core / Boxed Tube (Sears Tower structural system) --Mega Column + RC Core (Yokohama Tower structural system) --Mega Column + V / X Reinforced Bracing with or without TMD (Taipei 101 structural system) --Buttressed Triangular Core even if the building is square-ish (Burj Kalifa structural system) And finally maybe an off-axis / unique building like Citigroup / Citicorp Center (Suspended V-Frame steel). Not saying model each of the skyscrapers I mentioned, just apply less or more structural components to simulate them in an identical moderately tall building! Keep up the fantastic work!

We (Turkey) were shaken by an earthquake with a magnitude of 7.8Mw at 04:17 in February 2023, and then soon (about 10 minutes) we were shaken again by the aftershocks of this earthquake (6.5Mw and 6.0Mw). As if this was not enough, another earthquake with a magnitude of 7.6 Mw hit Turkey at around 13:20 on the same day. They were the most devastating earthquakes of recent centuries. I have a lot of problems with the realism of this one main one being a quake that can collapse skyscrapers cannot overturn vehicles or a little swing set. Those can stay upright even when buildings can't? Also I am pretty sure that strong enough seismic waves cause the ground to split and the roads to cave in.
@TheRealLink9 ай бұрын
From my understanding of the BCB / FM tools in an old 2.8 version of Blender (code won't work in newer versions), I think the components need to be pretty big to effectively be calculated. Vehicles or thin pipes are too small structurally for the tool to work reliably I'm guessing - or take literally forever to CPU sim.

Hello! In my opinion I think the magnitude 3.2 -5.0 was too strong, based on my experience 3.2 - 4.0 building won't really sway or be destructive, 5.0 won't really make buildings shake but will be felt, and lastly, 6.0 can actually make buildings shake! Just a little suggestion to make it a bit more realistic :)
