Can I take a moment to pay a little tribute to George Duke? When George came to Scotland with his own band in 1979, I went to the press call to promote the concert and his single "Party Down". I was just a student journalist and I was the only one there. George sat down with me, all smiles, bless him, and chatted away for over an hour, mostly about Zappa (who I was obviously a big fan of). So I got an in-depth interview out of what felt more like a catch-up with an old buddy with one of the friendliest and most likeable individuals I have ever met. When it finished, he thanked me (!) for my interest and ended with "Take care, man." Such a talented musician and somehow just as friendly. Beautiful man, so sad to hear that he's gone. But he left us wonderful music and great memories.

This is a master class in saying the same tiny bit of information in as many variations as humanly or artificially possible! The fact that rather early Jeff Simmons is suddenly named "geoff" and Mark Volman and Howard Kaylan are somehow amalgamated to Mark Howard makes it very clear very soon that the "maker' of this "content" has no idea what he is talking about.

Right? Not to mention the photo of Rush mixed into the video. Bet they saw Geddy Lee and mistook him for Frank Zappa.

I hate how one thinks we're gonna get to hear "from the horse's mouth", and instead we have this Max Headroom dufus lecturing us about George. I'm lucky in that I heard first hand the stories....not all obviously, but some.

I began listening to this and found the content was going slowly, so I skipped forward ten minutes, and it was as if I hadn't skipped at all, the narrator was still saying the same things! I kept skipping forward, and it was pretty-much the same through the end of the piece. I can save you time by summarizing it here: George Duke was classically trained and was surprised by the unstructured and differently structured forms in Zappa's music. That helped shaped Duke's continued musical career.

I thought this was an interview with George duke But he hardly talks We all know that Frank was the master and his band members were at the top of their profession but I was expecting a little more Kept repeating himself

The misrepresentation of this video being a "George Duke" interview, is, unfortunately, more the norm amidst most other videos. There should be a way to draw attention to these things The narration does have a couple of worthwhile points, but I agree, a lot of redundancy. Many articles, interviews, documentaries, etc. on Zappa or band members are annoying because they waste time explaining things as if youve never heard of him or know anything about him.

I stopped watching it because I hate AI videos but I'm sure the crux of the biscuit (To coin a phrase) was Zappa getting George Duke to play basic boogie woogie, "Are you too good for that?" etc. A very old story, finally it is obviously before "His dead" unless they already have AI Ouija boards?
