*Spoilers* for those of you who have seen the movie, did you look up what Sisyphus means? the teacher tried explaining it and never really did. I looked it up and it's a king from Greek mythology. he's punished for his deceitfulness by being forced to roll a huge boulder up a hill only for it to roll down when it nears the top. and it repeats for eternity. you see how that relates to Sam's situation?? and then towards the end of the movie when she's figuring out how to get out of this situation she's in class and the teacher mentions something about Sisyphus and it's been the answer to Sam's situation all along. I think the teacher said to be a good person or something like that. THE ANSWER WAS IN FRONT OF HER THE WHOLE TIME. anyways if even one person read this.. thanks. I just thought the whole Sisyphus thing was interesting..

Happy to see that so many fans of the book, Lauren Oliver, and Zoey Deutch are in the comments supporting the movie! The comments about it being "just another time loop storyline" aren't surprising. To those who haven't read the book, what really made Before I Fall special to me is not only Oliver's writing but how genuine and relateable the story was without all the over the top and awkward high school angst most media tries to sell us now a days. The best thing about Before I Fall to me was how down to earth it was when it comes to concept on how people interact and relate in general, not just in a high school setting. Fingers crossed that the movie is able to capture and maybe expand on what made the book so special.

I agree with you 100%! I read the book way back 2013 but I feel like I've just read it yesterday. I loved how in that one week that she relived the same day, she was able to truly understand herself and the people around her. I do hope the movie gives justice to the book. *fingers crossed*

I have to say watching this movie really made a beautiful impact on my perspective in my own life...I was so moved by the message of this movie. I got so much insight on myself watching this..I am not a teenager and i find that this also applies to me and i am in my 40's...The last thing she said at the end of the movie really moved my heart...for me it about how others mirror back to me my own shit..I use people today in helping me to look at myself. When i resent anyone, I hurt no one but myself...This movie also validated my life as it is now. It showed me how incredibly blessed i am with all i have today..It showed me how one slightest loving action can not only help someone else but i also benefit from that as well, even more..What i give out, I get back....Everyones perspective may view this movie differently and yet in my eyes i love it and it really helped me in more ways that one..I give it 5 stars..

I haven't watch it but I have read the book and it has similar vibe as this movie but from perspective of someone who has been bullied that chose suicide as an answer, similar to character Juliet in this movie. But in this tv series, before the character commit suicide, she made 13 tapes to be given to 13 person that made her took her life.

@@faihaahussain1363 Because think about it.. her day reset everytime. She restarted the same day way too many times. In other words, she was stuck. We can clearly see, that after only a few times starting over, she hates going back already. That day became a prison. Killing herself was the only way out and so that's why she says ''no, you saved me''. Juliet was the key to escaping the loop. Sam did two things at the end - she saved Juliet (which made her feel happy and good + the things she did before that) and she finally got out of the loop. Hope my view on this made sense.

***CONTAINS SPOILERS!*** I kind of wished she lived in the end but there was no other choice, she was going to die either way from the start of the car crash. But somehow, something made it so her day would reset giving her the choice to change all the things that caused that accident to happen in the first place and to make things right. She didn't know at first why they crashed, but then she did. She understood that her choices led to that car crash. That was how that moment spoiled the ending for me. There's no way of getting out of this, she's gonna die either way. Very sad yet very meaningful. I don't think I've seen a movie that has impacted me this much before

For anyone wondering, the song from the party is On the Regular by Shamir, the song that plays when the girls are tormenting juliet is Carribean by Astro, the song that plays in the car just before it gets hit is W/O by gems and the one in the car when they're dancing is Lola wolf- house key. There's a playlist one Spotify called "Before I fall" if you want all the songs, but those are the most popular.

Okay, do you know when you are really bored and just want to watch an pointless stupid movie? I didn't even get this movie recomendded and never saw the trailer, I just went on this site and was like "ok, I choose this one" and I expected it to be really bad, but woow it was so good and the most meaningful movie ever! Like, I love movies like these, movies that get you to think after it's ended. Like, appreciate life and be kind to others. I also love character changing trough a movie, so that made it extra good. Oh, and the music in this movie, good good. SPOILER ALERT: I knew she was going to die, because she died at the start, and when she said "I love you" to her parents and hugged her sister, I just knew it. I knew what she was going to do, ugh. I also loved that girl with the big shirt, Idk what she was called, but she was beautiful. And that guy (I know, I'm bad at remembering names), but he was really cute thought. (Btw. Now we are talking about cute guys, what is the teachers real name? The one with glasses? I have seen her before, ugh.. Anyway, I really hoped she would live but then again, nah, not every movie have to have a happy ending. 10/10! (This movie reminds me of The Butterfly Effect (I remember it has several endings) and also Final Destination (but they are kinda lame), but yeah)

Anyway here is my theory. I think she lived that day at first, and after she died in that car crash first, she went to the hell, that's why the day started over and over again. And maybe she had to find a way out from this hell, this is what we saw at the end. She saved Juliet, so she could escape from hell, and go to heaven (if you watch Lucifer, you will understand this hell thing better :D) I wanna say that she was already dead, and it could be a logical explanation why this day could started again. Her task was to find the piece.

Seeing so many comments on how predictable and boring this movie is gonna be is making me glad this is a standalone novel. At least there won't be any hating people who are going to ruin any chances of a second movie. LOL. On a different note, you really do need to read the book to understand the important of this story and how it is *different* to other stuck-in-time-loop stories. It's more of a reflective book and really gets your thinking about some really deep shit which is really relatable. :) Can't wait to see this movie!

Some of you people are so dumb. Yes, the concept has been used before, as many movie plots get used over and over again. Edge of Tomorrow used it after Groundhog Day used it. Yet, they are not the same story, as this story is not the same as those two either. If you are not interested, stop wasting your time watching it and commenting and move on. Let the people who are a fan of the book enjoy this moment. JFC

Especially the way Lindsey and sam shows their love of friendship to each other. Finally I wish all the very best to the director,actors and to the whole group. I actually like how in a way the ground-hog theme symbolizes how what people might feel when close to death, like they wish they could go back and do things differently or said something else to someone or they don't want to leave the way things currently are like you said something to someone and then felt guilty but then couldn't go back the next day and apologize because you're dead or you didn't give your loved one a kiss or a hug or an "I love you" or even a "good bye" before your departure.

All those ignorant, prejudiced comments make me so mad honestly, I can't judge the movie yet (the trailer looks very satisfying though) but I read the book about 7 or 8 times in English and in German. I am a very judgmental reader but it's one of my favorite books which taught me a lot of things. The main story line may seem very simple but the book is written in a wonderful language with such an understanding for young people and life in general. It's just so different than you would think and all the people Here saying the idea is just fake don't even know that the book was published almost 10 years ago and that the main character even refers to ground hog day 👍😅 however it made me appreciate my life and carefully over think my every day choices and actions a lot. Every thing you do could be the last and the way the book reminds you of that fact is breathtaking. Therefore I am Really thrilled to see the movie

Marlen Sophie F. just wondering in the book did the girl died? I felt movie was really good the whole storyline touch me and it was so sad for me when the girl died in the end with her last words "you saved me" I hope the book doest 22nd in the same sad way, than I'll probably give it a go
@liliofthelamplight7 жыл бұрын
Yes, she also dies in the book :) however, I could not watch the movie yet, because I live in Germany, so I don't know how similar the endings in general are, but I think it's also very touching in the book. I think her "surviving" this and being able to save herself in a way wouldn't have made sense, and her, actually being gone and not being able to really change sth anymore, just stresses the whole meaning a lot more and makes it more dramatic. therefore I am Also glad there isn't a happy ending
