As someone who worked many years as a nanny and babysitter for various families, I loved how this captured the tender and sometimes fleeting connections we make with children. It also confronts the absurdity of our culture, where children are too often entrusted into the hands of almost-strangers. This short film really moved me, thank you.

Cameras should be installed, ALWAYS.
@abis4064 Жыл бұрын
@@DX-d thanks for your perspective, but I actually would tend to disagree. I once did a one-off sit for two children who's mother left within minutes of my arrival (our first ever meeting). there was a camera installed in the main room we were in, and as soon as I saw it I just felt extremely uncomfortable, like I was being spied on. baring in mind, I was working through an agency (basically just an app) that was not particularly hard to get accepted onto. so I understand why they would have a camera... but to me this didn't ensure that the children's wellbeing was being prioritised at all. this kind of transactional, impersonal situation should just never happen in childcare. it's not the same as getting an uber. plus there were other rooms with no cameras inside the house anyway. needless to say, it wasn't for me, and I never worked through that app again. what I'm suggesting instead is that a lot of time and care should be taken to get to know the person who looks after your kids, to build a proper foundation of trust. it should be treated like any relationship where there's intimacy and emotional attachment involved: walk slowly into it. too many families are in a rush to sort childcare, which leads to negligence and poor instincts. at best, it just feels gross, like you're part of a staff and not part of the family. at worst, kids are put in harm's way. I have worked for families who take the time to know you as a person and the care is truly mutual. then it's a wonderful job.

That was hilarious. The high paid nanny is "outsourcing" lower paid random babysitters using an app while she goes out to party. I wouldn't be surprised if that actually really happens. I once hired a guy to do painting, and came back and found some homeless people I didn't recognize doing the painting. Apparently he had taken the money, bought a case of beer, and offered it to some homeless men to paint a room in "his" house for a few hours. I was taken aback by this, I paid them cash and never hired the man again.

Unfortunately, where I live in California there's a lot of drug addiction and homelessness, and they wouldn't even arrest the homeless man who set a car on fire in my driveway. If I called the police and said "the painter brought homeless people in to help without my permission and I think they're smoking meth" the police probably would have literally laughed or said something sarcastic about how I was helping the homeless, like they said when they tried to say I was responsible for "allowing" a homeless man to park a car in my driveway that later got set on fire when I tried to press charges. We have had to step over drug needles and passed out homeless people holding needles to get into places like the Chinese Buffet in the last few months. By the way, the "car fire" is actually on my KZbin channel, you can search for my name and "car set on fire" to find it. And I begged them to arrest the guy and even sent my video to local news reporters and government officials through e-mail and Twitter who completely ignored me. The guy went on to start many more fires and is still walking free, never got arrested once.

Oh my... this was so good. The whole time I wishing it was a full length movie and sorry that I knew it would abruptly end. It would be fantastic if there was an "After Seven" made that continues the story. With flashbacks and a clever script, this could be woven into a movie or at least a 45-60 minute story. These child actresses are amazing. Everything flowed so naturally and it would be most interesting to further develop the story! But even if it doesn't, I suppose that was a really interesting place to leave it. We learn something in the final seconds that helps to set one thing straight, so the world of "what ifs" is narrowed slightly.

I don't usually mind a cliffhanger, but that left me on the side of El Capitan hanging by my fingernails!

Very well done! Great acting, especially of the little girls ang Sage. More films like this, please! Who needs closure when you can have such a thrilling ending.

so the nanny was making so much caishe that it was worth it for her to hire a temp instead of asking for a day off

Although we were left on a cliffhanger.... I think that we have clues that this is not the first time that the nanny has done this.
@Panwere36 Жыл бұрын
@danicali , it wasn't just saying that. There were other clues before that as well. We didn't know till the end that the nanny was the woman we met in the beginning. Till near the end.. we are led to believe it was the mother.

GREAT MOVIE. Great ending. To all the people feeling cheated on the ending, use your imagination. It seems to be lost, since people don't read much now, and expect it all to be delivered.

I replayed the last five minutes to learn everyone's name. Interesting aspect of this cliff-hanger is that we still don't know the real mother's name. We know Jessica passed herself off as "Nicole." We know the baby-sitter is Sage, and the girls are Emmaline and Abigail. Their father is Marcus. Their uncle is Felix, likely the mother's brother. But we still don't know Mum's actual name. Clever addition to a cliff-hanger.

I had a nanny that used to put me in the rooftop at the edge that she could do whatever she wants till she finishes and that caused me a lot a trauma

That is my No.1 of Omeleto videos. So good, I had to watch it again to catch those details I missed (and those faces 😆) and others posted out. I was sure husband was having an affair with Sage and leave her because of "new woman". Jessica (Nicole) was sure partying - I heard lots of noises when Sage called her. Huh

THIIIIISSSS Day Janaé!!!!! EXACTLY what I was thinking. At this point I need a third party to verify. Not the girls. They could play a game of pretending with those people and the trust the girls have in them would be real enough to deceive.

I'm so curious to see a follow-up called "After Seven" haha.... I'll just leave the blanks to my imagination as intended 😉 But on a serious note, this was amazing, great premise, twist, and acting. Good on Sage for trying to protect the girls, she's the new nanny in my eyes
