F*cking beautiful. Well done, sir. I've been a drummer most of my life and I can say for certain that this is an extremely difficult song to play on drums (as is everything on "The Warning", for the most part). Bravo.
@MrNickDrummer Жыл бұрын
Thank you for the comment! 👍 For some reason (maybe because I've been listening to Ryche forever) their songs aren't that hard for me to learn / play. But I agree, The Warning isn't a walk in the park, it takes some time. Eyes of a Stranger and Walk in the Shadows weren't too difficult either. Mike Mangini is very difficult for me to learn... Breaking all Illusions took a long time to get it somewhat close to what he did.

i am a drummer and utterly in the vein of what you play. your kit is spectacular and your playing is spot on. Before the Storm.....aaahh what a brilliant song from a brilliant lp. your covers are just like mine. The way you've got your drums tuned is what I like, but have trouble perfecting.
@MrNickDrummer7 жыл бұрын
Thank you very much! Tuning is all about detecting the fundamental pitch of the drum and getting the heads near that pitch and stretching them during tuning. It's easier than it sounds.

Holyyyyy damn bro. Trying to figure out drums on this album and queensrych in general is impossible and yet you do it so beautifully. Thank for helping me understand how to play this song and a few more :) Kudos to you you are a god this song is so hard to play
@MrNickDrummer Жыл бұрын
Thank you! Scott's trick in many songs is to start drum fills and stop abruptly to start another one in the same space. Once you break it down like that and your brain gets used to it, it becomes a lot easier 👍

@@MrNickDrummer Thanks! I actually have incorporated this exact trick into my own drumming, it sounds so good keep rockin

Thanks for this video, I as guitar and bass player recently buyed an electronic drum just to feel the parts, always love that parts and was thinking how Scott did. Now I can watch and learn if I can.... (just to clarify, as closer I can with an electronic drum, for sure, we need a kit´s drum like Nick´s ones to reach out something good with this Metal Masterpiece...)

Nr.Nick In your opinion, what is the most complex groove on Scott Rockenfield's "Queensryche?
@MrNickDrummer11 ай бұрын
Hard to tell. Scott is somehow easy for me to learn. I'd say anything from their EP Queensryche and from The Warning is a bit more challenging. Now, what is difficult for me is Mike Mangini (Dream Theater) and some tunes from Chris Quirarte (Redemption) - Check my "At Day's End" cover and "Breaking All Illusions" - those were a lot of work to learn / memorize and execute as they demand brain power.
