I just finished watching the show as I take my wife and youngest daughter from store to store while I sit in the parking lots. When Mac King mentioned Al Canal (not sure how to spell his last name) I almost fell over. He runs the Wildey Theater in Edwardsville, IL. I just talked to him a few months ago when we watched our magic buddy Steve Davis perform his Elvis show. He has traveled all over the would doing Elvis. But I digress, Al is the most unfamous famous person I know. He has done many things in the St Louis area. One of my favorite radio shows used to talk to him on the air all the time and they told old stories about him all the time too When I heard Mac King mention him, I almost jumped out of the car. The book review was so informative like always. I bought it as soon as it was available, but I’m not sure if there is much value in it for me. It will sit on the shelf until I’ve read many other books first. Thank you for another amazing show. Are you going to the Magifest in January? I’ll be there again. I’ll be coming there almost straight from S.A.M. Convention in Las Vegas. I’m sure I’ll be dragging. Lol.

That's awesome, Scott! Thanks for sharing your story about knowing Al. It's a small world, eh? I'm booked and ready to go to Magic fest in January, so I'm sure I'll see you there! Already looking forward to it; Hope you're not dragging too much 😉

I’ll be at the January MagiFest, and I’ve got over 600 more books added to my inventory, and will be bringing as many of them as possible.

Thanks for another great, honest review Jeff. This made me pull out What Lies Inside to review the pre-show chapter contained in it. On an unrelated note, I just got my hands on a copy of The Secret Ways of Al Baker and all I can say is wow!

The Mac King segment was really interesting to hear. He brought me up on stage a few years ago for the routine that included the watch gag and bottle production. So it was neat to hear his checklist of what he's looking for each routine.

I was about to recommend "What Lies Inside" in the comments when you brought it up haha. I'm waiting for Asi to reprint Repertoire.

Great minds and all that 😉

Jeff just interviewed Andi Gladwin and Jeff asked if he would be reprinting Repertoire and Andi said that book was all done by ASI and it would be up to him if it were to be reprinted or not.
@EruditeMagic3 жыл бұрын
I did just interview Andi, but it must have been someone else who asked about Repertoire - I knew that one was up to Asi as an independent publication

@@EruditeMagic then I’m losing my mind. Maybe he was asked at MagiFest, but I would have sworn it was your interview. Now I have to go back and watch. Lol

So this is theory book, not magic book, right? 🤔
@EruditeMagic3 жыл бұрын
Sort-of, yes. No 'tricks' as such are taught. Just how to deploy the pre-show technique
