It’s a “heck NO” if they are shipping from Hong Kong or China. That’s only the beginning; there are fake coins shipping from the US too, the speed pack is also a clue. These sellers are all over Facebook too.

There’s a seller on eBay right now who has a NGC slabbed 1884 S Morgan dollar at MS63. The problem is the coin itself doesn’t have a mint mark. His listing is worth about $45K but his coin is worth about $115.

I have never purchased a Morgan from Ebay just because one I feel like most of the people selling them are grading them wrong by saying bu or lots of them could be fake

To buy Morgan's on eBay I Ping Test the Coin with my Cell App, I weigh it and Magnet test it. If it is bad I return it.

Thank you for taking the time to teach the people that don’t understand. The coin hobby has gotten so bad that it’s kinda taken the fun out of collecting. It’s like you always have to protect your Fanny so someone doesn’t stick their thing up your but.😢

I post myself buying Morgan Silver Dollars from eBay all the time. Out of about 100 Morgan's, two have been Fake and I got my money returned on both of them with postage. I do not do it like you do it. I Filter to "Time Ending Soonest" and Bid for my Morgan's. Most of mine are from MBar. But I do skip a lot of coins because of the likelihood that they are Fake. Always look the Sellers page over really good so you don't have to return anything.

Yay! I grow tired of ebay not handling things and making it tough for collectors to sort through all the nonsense. It really has stopped me from even looking to buy on their platform.

It is starting to dominate the first page on a search. They seem to care more about upsetting a major label like Nike versus just letting buyers get taken advantage of on collectible coins. Think about it. If you buy a $100+ pair of sneakers the seller has to send it to an eBay authentication service first before they ship it to the buyer yet these foreign sellers can unload tons of fake coins on us with no protection for the buyer.

@chaicharin I had no idea sneaker sales were so regulated! I report fake coins, but honestly the last (6) months The Bay has me not coin shopping. Any search is just nonsense and I have grown tired of reporting counterfeit when they do nothing- heck, I've bought counterfeit on Temu to see if customs is looking out- they aren't. I just don't get it and sometimes wish for the time before the internet was a thing- dial-up days were way better. Cheers! GEG

Nice vid! I do not buy any silver or gold from china, sri lanka etc. when i buy pandas, i prefer graded or a seller in the u.s. with plenty of good feedback. I shop item location in u.s. only or north america

It’s horrible this stuff is out there you would think some of these would be considered counterfeit and be against the law and should be pursued. It gives coin collecting a black eye so to speak imo

That’s why u should only purchase from reputable dealers on eBay. I stick mainly with APMEX and Pinehurst, etc. Never buy any coins from China, Hong Kong, etc. There are some reputable individuals selling on eBay. You just have to do your research and use common sense. I’m talking from experience. In my rookie collecting days I got burned with an NGC certified “Fat Man” coin from China. The certification number on the slab was legitimate. But when I check the certification number on the NGC website, it was definitely not the coin I had in my fake NGC slab. Fortunately eBay refunded my money. Lesson learned.
