I got off a 1994 FXDL with over a 100k miles of beating the living crap out of. Still have it . Recently bought a 2022 Street Bob. The old bike has dual disk and I can bury the fork and put a flat spot on the tire. Two fingers. The new bike brake is ok, but due upgrades. The new bike handles pretty good for what it is, but the ride isn't as plush as the old lowrider. Seat will be replaced with one from Whiplash. I do like the narrow tire on back. Handle bars, mmmeaah... Probably change em for a lower bar. The instrument cluster? I love the uncluttered look. Performance is pretty good! It gets a pipe and a tune.

Street Bob 107 feels like it would be the Iron 883 of the Softail line-up. Great bike but leaves you with a lot of options to upgrade the way you want to customize it - which means $$$ on parts and labor.

I put a larger rotor on my Sportster and it made a difference. I would recommend that as well as I added a cartridge kit and rear Fox shocks that made the ride nice. Now I am looking at the Street Bob 2022 version.

All your points are valid however it is unfair to compare the Street Bob to a Low Rider S or Fat Bob as the Street Bob is the factory's version of an old-school chopper. As long as the potential buyer understands this fundamental truth they will be pleased with the Street Bob.

Great video because, as an owner, especially by comparison to your dad's Lowrider S, you've got educated reasoning. I've got a '21 Street Bob and love it. All I've done to it is Bung King crash bars (front and rear), Saddlemen "Gripper" Step-Up, Dean Speed sissy bar, and LED lights (front and rear). Like you, I've considered having H-D put on dual discs, but then I saw a video from Laidlaw's where they said that dual discs are really more for heat dissipation as opposed to actual stopping power. Idk...I'm torn on that one. I got it in July and have put 3K miles on it, so when it goes in for its 5K service I'm gonna get a quote and evealuate. Your bike looks awesome and I'm glad you're still getting to ride in the Midwest. Merry Christmas, dude.

Thanks for watching! I DO love my bike and I’m excited to keep it and build it. Reason I compare it to my dads FXLRS is I know most people tend to compare these bikes because of price, performance, etc. glad you can relate to the braking dilemma, I can imagine adding dual disc’s is expensive but I’ve seen people do it! Thanks for watching again and commenting!

Dual disk dose stop better. My 94 Lowrider has dual disk and will easily outstop my new Street Bob. I'll at least do a brake pad upgrade. And wait for someone to do a big rotor conversion. The only dual disk option I could find was a complete fork from the new lowrider. It has duals, but the fork is inverted so you can't scavange a right lower slider and caliper.

With my 2022 street bob, my front brake is extremely grippy, and rear brake is practically non-existent! 😂

What's your opinion of the heritage, fat bob, Triumph T100 or T120 for a new rider 52 years old 6'"3 215 lbs.?

Lyman pads and an oversize front rotor will get you feeling better about brakes.

I really wanted one of these new street bobs but couldn't afford it, so i bought a sportster 72 that i found a good deal on instead. the peanut tank (though it looks awesome) is definitely the most annoying thing, having to fill up all the time. but it's not THAT bad i guess since i live in chicago and mostly just rip around town. Def dig the digital display of the street bob though with the fuel/gear indicator.

Dude i need your advice. I have a 2018 streetbob and my intial intention was to buy a 48 special but the dealer didn't have any and i got sucked into the street bob. I can't afford this bike anymore, so i need to downgrade. Is the sportster really that bad? I don't ride on the highway and most of my rides are short. What would you do??
