Ryan Kruesi w/‪@kruesioriginals‬ invited me to take his 2018 Harley Davidson Low Rider turned Street Bob out for a spin. This is a custom build they're doing in the shop. Full build/series can be found on their KZbin channel (link below). I've ridden the new M8 softail a handful of times already but this is the first time testing a custom build. Things didn't go as smoothly as planned, but it was a total blast nonetheless. Enjoy!

You had to know the comments were gonna eat you up about running out of gas! I owned an 09 Street Bob the year they came out and I really liked it! The new M8 motors are smooth and have a really good power delivery in my opinion. Good vid.

Hey Jon. Really enjoy the video's and big respect man but am a bit confused by this one (mainly the title). The "watch before you buy" made me think you were going to ride a Low Rider and a Street Bob and do a comparison. Enjoyed seeing what the guys had done to the bike but couldn't really take anything away from it. Anyway, love what they have done and looked like a fun ride. Cheers.

As a non-Harley owner, I love these engines. Probably why one of my bikes is a 1670 cc MT-01. That new Fat Bob is a particularly good-looking bike, only I don't like feet-forward. Do you get used to it? I like the handlebars on the bike in this video. I bet when your mate received that call, he thought you'd come off. Your videos make me want to fire up my big MT!

Jusl like a fuel injected car, the gas cools and lubricates the fuel pump. Run it dry and ruin the pump.

I was stoked when Kruesi started this build, because I had serious buyers remorse (riding a 19’ Low Rider). Now that I see what can be done, the sting has lessened. As always, great video.

I test rode a 2019 Softail Low Rider and a 2020 Softail Street Bob. My knees were way too high than they are on any Dyna. I'm 5'8" and it was uncomfortable. Tall guys must be really uncomfortable. They were M8 107 ci engines and that was really cool, sooo powerful. Barbara is a very nice lady but then again you have an innocent looking face. What' the red light at the bottom right of the gauge? I like that guage too. Hmm wonder if that would work on my Wide Glide? I liked the kick stands on the new Softail LT and SB. I thought it was way better than on the Dynas.

Most fun you put in the seat of your pants is the chain drive. And belts are really for your pants not motorcycles. The chain drive has no stretch and you can change the gearing it feels like putting a big bore kit in the motor the response is amazing.

Man the only reason i dislike the Street Bob is cause of the smaller tank, but hey different strokes for different folks I guess. Shes still a pretty machine

Street bob is the Same size tank as a dyna. The Lowrider tank is just gigantic.

The mx style bars are quite good 👍 be nice and easy to steer vrs apes. I have a dirt bike and 16s on a sporty, mite look at changing to mx bars also

They are the way to go if you want performance. I have 6” risers and biltwell tracker mids on mine with poly bushings. Much more solid setup with no wet noodle feeling.

I got a softail standard. I still miss my street glide but this bike is a ton of fun. Took a few rides to get comfortable with it because I was so used to a bagger. Once I did I really started to enjoy myself. It really is confidence inspiring. I swear it feels like a bicycle to me. I rode a couple of the new softails when I still had my dyna and didn’t think much of it. But switching from a bagger. Sometimes I forget this thing weighs like 600lbs. I feel like I can just pick it up and carry it around. Which really made the mountain roads a ton of fun. The baggers handle so good you don’t notice the weight. Till you ride something 200lbs lighter and you feel like oh I was actually working with the weight of that bike a lot. This feels like nothing. I can throw it around and barely use the the brakes. I’ve never ridden a sport bike but to me this is my cruiser equivalent. Even though it definitely doesn’t handle like a sport bike. It feels that way to someone used to something much bigger

I ride a 2005 Sportster 1200 Roadster with a 3.3 gallon tank and have never run it dry in 80,000 miles. The secret is gas and Gatorade every 120 miles or every two hours.

Lol I ran out of gas on the road too the other day. My petcock let me down. I switched it to res when the bike stopped running and I couldn't get it to run. How would you compare the handling of that bike to the scout? Logically, I want to buy the Indian, but emotionally, I want a Harley. I'll likely have both eventually. Indian makes the best bagger with their challenger, but I also want a bike I can zip around in traffic. I'm a cruiser guy, so I don't want to get a naked bike. Even though, that's the logical answer

Man you said something right after you got your gas and got rolling again, that Harley is in a tough spot because people trash them all over for making the same bikes year after year and never changing them but, when they do change things and bring out new technology they get blasted by the “Harley bros” for not building a “real “ Harley anymore! I mean Harley had to go back and engineer some vibration back into their bikes because they were too smooth and modern feeling for the faithful? It’s ridiculous really! You have to, have to, have to, upgrade your product from time to time, especially motorcycles!!! The fact that the sporty hasn’t seen much upgrading since the 80s has it’s very survival in question! Now it MUST BE UPGRADED if it’s going to continue! Probably why Harley patented a brand new air cooled engine this year? New engine for the sportsters come 22?

I traded one of my bikes for a Lowrider, which is what I wanted until I road one. The ergonomics are terrible I didn’t like riding it at all the huge gas tank made it feel like a whale in the deep low seat made it feel like I was bent over completely trying to reach the handlebars. That’s just me and how it felt for me I have short arms and a bad neck.

Not a big gan of the new soft tail line. Their all the same bike with diffrent fenders and paint job. I liked the old dyna line it had character the fat Bob was different then the street bob the low rider was different from the fat Bob. Yeah they were the same frame but the bikes looked totally different from each other .
