Why didn't you put it more under the roof???

Great question. Thank you. So - I'll start by saying that next time I will definitely build a longer roof. When I built the 40' roof and placed the 20' sawmill bed I had to position it so that I could load logs through the approximately 19' distance between the two posts. Meaning - no real choice in where sawmill had to be placed. I stack any boards that require edging to the right of the Norwood operator station and while I could have moved the edger completely under the roof, that would mean that I need to pull each board back from where it was placed post-cut to put it in a position to start it feeding through the edger. In terms of placement of the edger, if cover was not a consideration, the entire edger would be moved another 10' at least, (in the direction that a board feeds through,). Ideally, I would have build a 20' x 60' cover instead of 20' x40' 20-20 hindsight strikes again. haha
