That was intentional. This video was strictly about speed having more impact than cores. x3d is a whole different video. This was also meant for people who are faced with a choice to meet their budget. Any simple review would show that the 7800x3d is the obvious choice for those who can afford it.

I just build a new pc with a rtx 4070 Super and ryzen 7 7800x3d and will keep it for 4 maybe 5 years

I'd keep that 6-7 like I did with my 8700K and 1060 6g :D

Those are pretty good picks. The 4060, 4060 ti and even the plain 4070 aren't that great price/performance wise but the 4070 super is one Nvidia's better offerings. And the 7800X3D is simply the best CPU for gaming.

But what about in 2025? Will I need more cores then? How many cores, on average, does PC gaming require on a year to year basis?

@@NebMunb in 2025 we'll probably have 9000 series x3d chips. Not a single game in existence, or upcoming and announced, that would stress any 9000 series chip. Even Minecraft might get close to full GPU usage. As far as average, Its still one. Most games are still relying on single core speed and in those games, it doesnt matter how many you have, its how fast they are that counts. Cyberpunk is one of few games that will fully utilize multicore enhancement and hyperthreading.
