This set is going to be the toughest set in history to complete. Between the scalpers, the size of the set, the huge demand, and the fact that they aren't doing booster boxes. It is going to be a big mess. This set is super scary. It makes me know that when Team Rocket set becomes available, I am buying all that I possibly can. That is the set that I will really want to complete. I hope it's much easier than this

That always happens though, unfortunately PC is not good at fighting bots. I signed up for the email list and set their email address to priority in my inbox so I get notified whenever something gets dropped. Even then, the emails sometimes come way later than the drop and I miss out.

I heard some stuff about another gholdengo sir. It seemingly looks better than the last one, and because gholdengo is my favorite Pokémon and I want to pull every card he’s in, I may just open one etb if scalpers are already going crazy with this set. If I pull it great, if not oh well I’m not buying another and will buy the card individually. Knowing my luck I’d pull the new moonbreon over my actual chase card lmao.

Oh this is one of those side sets with a smaller card pool, I thought the name for the set was odd, but it does fit with Champion's Path and Shrouded Fates. (also felt it as too soon to reveal the first main set of 2025.)

@@gullibleotaku8299 They will almost certainly restock on release day, but it will be in the morning (8-10 prob) and will likely go out of stock pretty quick unless they stock an absurd amount (v unlikely) Basically you’re gonna have to be refreshing nonstop if you wanna be sure to secure one If you are willing to wait they will be restocking periodically throughout 2025 too

Yeah they go out of stock immediately, it’s a battle against the bots so you have to be fast. Theres no consistent restock day that I’ve identified but HazeCat said it, there’s usually a restock on release day once the preorders are shipped out.

Well definitely don't spend money you need on shiny cardboard. You're making the right choice by stepping back for the time being. I was too broke to buy any for years and I'd just watch PokeRev and Leonhart for fun. I lucked out and got a good job eventually that allowed me to get beck into it. I checked all tcg shops in Poland and everything is sold out. You can bearly find it on ebay in normal prices. Anyways i think after the launch of Pokemon Pocket TCG people went nuts and started to buy out products seconds after pre-orders are announced.

The binders in the collection boxes? I wouldn’t put their value above $5-10 dollars. They are way better than what we used to get but still not the greatest for serious collectors. Good for kids or lower value collections like promo cards (that’s what I use them for). For higher end and master sets I use the VaulX binders in the description links. They’re the best 💪🏼

This set won’t have a booster box because it’s a special set, but the difference is that when you buy packs separately there’s always a chance they’ve been weighed or resealed, which means they might have no hits in them. It’s always safer to buy sealed boxes when possible.

@@roemernikolaj​​⁠it unfortunately still does happen with these modern sets, although it’s been made more difficult scammers always find a way. Prismatic Evolutions has some new style cards with the pokeball and masterball reverse holos, those combined with the new Special artworks will most likely cause weight differences in the packs with hits. Unless you have a trusted source for buying singles, I’d avoid it.

there is no "before you buy" with this set lol. buy buy buy keep some sealed and open some. i managed to get preorders at GameStop but the completely stopped preorders on all P.E. products

Yeah, it's gonna be a really tough set to find. Surging Sparks is already the same way and it's got less than half the hype that this set will. Best bet is to do preorders with trusted sources and make sure not to overpay!

Just make sure not to overpay or overspend, and you can always trade your bulk and doubles for the cards you need. That's half the fun!

surprise boxes is $22.99 on pc i preordered the 2 limit. there more expensive at gamestop at $24.99 i ordered 8 more at my local gamestop. pc etbs definitely went in i ordered 2 cases and 2 lose and ordered 10 regular ETBs and 10 tins 10 binders and 6 poster collections. i have more stuff but ill continue to preorder more stuff once its available again

I’m excited for prismatic evolutions but I’m worried that those annoying stupid a** scalpers are going to take every single product while actual collectors get nothing. Seriously, stores like Walmart, Costco, and target should have a limit per person. Or why not hire securities that can only guard the pokemon card sections. Or keep the products locked behind glass.

My local stores have limits but somehow the scalpers get through anyway. every time I go there it's cleaned out except sleeved packs and they enforce a 2 item limit which means only 2 booster packs per person. I've switched to buying only from my local card shop instead.

@ yea. Everytime I go to my local target or Walmart to check the card section, it’s literally empty, there’s nothing but baseball cards and Disney’s Lorcana. I gave up going to those stores and just go to the card shops called Legends and they’re in most of my favorite malls, which is better cuz I always like to hang around in the mall and enjoy the day while also going to Legends to buy pokemon booster packs. I just hope scalpers don’t go to those stores once prismatic evolutions comes out 😅

Just taking a look at the horizon! I'm still gonna be posting plenty of Surging Sparks openings between now and January 17th when prismatic comes out. I think about it in two parallel timelines, there's the excitement about the sets that are coming out now, and excitement about what's next. The news of the future doesn't spoil the present for me, I can enjoy both. I encourage everyone to do the same, don't let the next set make this one less fun, there will ALWAYS be a next set.

Dont buy pokemon center boxes, overpriced. Think about it. 45$ from a cheap retailer will get you a normal box. Pokemon Center boxes often goes from same cheap retailer for 100$. More expensive retailers charge 70$ vs 130$. All you get is 1 card. Sure its worth 50$ more. But its worthless in any collection.

The Pokémon Center ETBs should only be $60 if you buy them directly from Pokemon Center. I would never buy them from a retailer, the only place to buy them is Pokemon Center so it means they bought it for full price and can only resale it for higher than it should be. I guess your last point depends on the collector, I personally like to have both versions of the promo next to each other in my binder
