Another thing to be considered is the fact that this console has HDMI output, Bluetooth which is great for emulating on TV and using our Bluetooth controllers…another thing is NDS(not mentioned) which looks great 👍 N64 is also a great surprise and PSP on TV looks very good with no black bar’s… I bought one of those and I’m happy

No, I think the point is to make money. I wouldn't buy this for PICO-8 alone, you can run PICO-8 on just about anything and many people have never heard of PICO-8.

@@Cyko.. The screen is optimal for pico-8, Gameboy, neo geo pocket, game gear, and vertical arcade games. These systems will have big bars on any other hand held. Similarly, the other 3:4 consoles end up having big bars on this one. Your "muh money" comment is just useless blabbering.

Also NES and SNES, those two scale so damn well on them. GBA while having black bars scales to 3x compared to 3.5" 480p handhelds scaling to 2.8x (blurry since not integer)

I’ve the last few years I’ve noticed quality control going downhill as they push more and more consoles out. Anbernic included. I got the rg353v when it first released and by pressing the r1 button it would freeze and glitch out the screen (this was present on all the different firmwares I tried) I’ve had devices where certain buttons wouldn’t map correctly or they had deep scratches etc etc, just really annoying issues that really stopped one from being able to enjoy the device. Nowadays they often take lengthy set ups before using and as much as i get the newest stuff for GameCube and ps2 emulation outside of those most people only use them for snes, ps1 and the gameboy/sega equivalent libraries… My advice to people would be to buy something tried and tested that’s plenty capable and premium for a fraction of the cost like the rg351mp rg351m rg350m etc.

​@@leonardomatheus1888the screen is the biggest point; 1:1 scales eith a lot of systems. you can do a bunch of upgrades (add rumble, replace the sticks for hall sticks, replace membranes or dpad, fix the rattling). QC isn't great with powkiddy, but the fact that it's fairly repair friendly is a nice benefit.

I’ve been looking up different reviews of the RGB30, and that button issue seems to consistently come up. A lot of frustrated buyers who ended up returning their devices, either from faulty buttons when they first arrive, or function deteriorating over time within the warranty time. Powkiddy really should address button quality.

I was going to grab an RGB30 just for PS1 and lower (I have an Odin 2 for everything else) but I have seen multiple reports of the shoulder buttons having issues and dead pixels and screen ghosting.. I see many people rave about it but just as many that have issues.

@@Mosestylez I ended up getting the RGB30. I did have to do a couple “mods” but I enjoy that kind of stuff.. so far I love it. I tend to grab it more than my more powerful handhelds.

Ambernic makes great hardware but the software side sucks and they burned the bridges with devs so stuff like the RG Arc won't get any of the major CFW

no mention of the false diagonals, no mention of the sleep and charging quirks. i think you missed quite a bit of truth. however, despite its flaws, i completely agree with your feelings on the rgb30. for no rational reason, it is just the console i prefer to pick up and play for a lot of systems. it's completely replaced my miyoo mini+ in that regard. i've found arkos greately improves the playability of n64, dreamcast, and saturn and it has the added benefit of providing easy workarounds for the broken sleep and battery drain issues.

Personally I've not had any issues with false diagonals or charging, but yes I've had sleep issues I forgot to mention (and I don't mean the kids waking me up 😅), mine uses way too much power in sleep mode. It's a strange console for sure though in how it seems to draw you in.

I think we overestimate the DS's power, sure it runs DS the best, but in emulation via a flashcart, it caps out at SNES/GBC (don't need GBA because you have the hardware to natively run it). Could be an emulator issue but in terms of dev interest, it's dead
