Thank you! I’m glad you found it helpful. There are two main settings to note: First, "Normal" mode, which automatically locks the door a few seconds after it’s unlocked. Then there’s "Passage" mode, which keeps the lock unlocked (once authenciated) until you manually disable it using the button, the app, or an automation. One limitation to keep in mind: when Passage mode is enabled, there’s no way to lock the door from the outside. You'll need to disable Passage mode from the inside (app or automation.) There's no way to make it more "key-like," where you unlock it once, and it stays unlocked until you leave and lock it from the outside. Then the next time you arrive, you unlock it, and it stays unlocked until you lock it again. If you don't enable Passage mode the second time (with authentication), it will lock automatically after a few seconds after. Thus you'll have to re-enable Passage mode every time with the authentication. Doubtful! It's not the same type of lock to the best of my knowledge so it would have to be entirely redesigned.

@@ModernDayTech not really, that’s only if you’re using it for main door which have the 3 point lock. But bedroom uses and other doors inside the house it would be fine. Like a office room or something. Which would be my case.

I understand what you're saying, but just realize that 99.9% of the locks on the market aren't very secure and are mostly there to keep honest people honest. The nice thing is they hide the key slot, so it's not visible as part of the everyday design.

Great video, do you know if you can set up more the one extra lock to automatically unlock? For example I have a breezeway with one regular lock on inside door and a regular lock and deadbolt on outside door. Of If I unlock the first one can I set up an automation to unlock the other two automatically?

I don't see why not. Just not the quick auto-lock of the U300 so depending on where it's located it might lock up too fast.

The passage mode behavior shown at 5m25s might be a deal breaker. It’s not clear if the lock can be left in passage mode (unlocked) and stays unlocked. This video mentioned something about pressing the button on the inside and then authenticating with your thumb. I don’t get it unless there is no way to disable the auto lock? I’m going to be using this on a bedroom door and it will remain unlocked most of the time. (Aka passage). Can you easily lock the door from the inside at least? Again think bedroom usage. Once passage mode is enabled via the inside button and authenticated, as seen at 05:22 and 05:51 It will remain in passage mode for however long you have it set in the app. So yes, you can keep it in passage mode until you choose to lock it. What I did at 05:22 was active the passage mode, authenticate, and then immidately disabled it. I didnt keep in passage mode until 05:51 Passage mode will take it out of auto-lock mode until you lock it from the button on the INSIDE or automation or via apps. There is no way to lock it from the outside while in passage mode. What I'm trying to explain in the video is that you will need to re-enable passage mode AND authenticate each time you want to enter passage mode. Other latch smart locks that I've test can lock from the outside (WHILE in PASSAGE MODE) and then you return and unlocked, it will stay in unlocked until you locked again, like a normal latch lock with a key. What they have now, is not a deal breaking and will work for a bedroom, its just an extra step that is not needed, each and every time when you want to lock it and come back into passage mode. To make it eaiser, they have to have a setting to lock it from the outside while in passage mode and also they need a custom time settings while in auto mode. I hope this helps you understand a little clearer.

I would say No in 99.9% of doors, but also understand, I've seen a lot of door poorly cut, so you'll want to measure to see if you luck out.

Auto-lock is just seconds so its not much waiting. You can put in passage mode and keep it there permenetly (until locked) or a time you can select from 10 min. to 24 hours.
