At first i thought this was exciting but the level of stress which one needs to endure when it comes to preparing and buying what's needed can be very stressful. I cried today became its just alot of preparations which needs money as well 😢

Stay strong! Don't give up! I don't know you, but I've seen some of your comments here and think your dream is out there, so I just wanted to say "go for it!". And, please be sure: 1) you keep all your receipts for everything you pay for, as the cruise line or the contracting company you work for, should reimburse you for most of it. 2) make sure that you're not being "scammed" to pay for things that you should not be paying for.(look at Lucy's videos and her career guides for the details here) 3) only take a s t c w class if your cruise line tells you to and then only when they tell you....and same for your "medical" exam. 4) get your passport (make sure it won't expire soon) and pay the fee for the c1 / d visa application....but that should be all you need to pay for until your cruise line tells you specifically....(this is how I understand what Lucy says in her videos) Fair winds and Good Luck! And remember to take this one step at a time, and things should work out....don't think about all the preparations, just think about one-at-a-time!

Damage Control? 😀 Your mention of that made me smile. Maybe it's a generational thing? I don't know, but the fact is that unless you're a president, prime minister, etc. etc., nobody "needs" to be "in contact" all-the-time. 😀 I'm not saying everyone should be "loaners" and not have friends or close family, quite the opposite I think everyone in the world should be more friendly to each other. I'm just saying face-to-face is better than whatsap, tiktok, etc. And, remember that for most of us on smaller boats, we do not have internet access at sea at all, and we survive just fine! 😀Any way, Lucy thanks for another happy video! Fair winds! P.S. Yes, reading your contract IS always a good idea!!

Lucy has mentioned that it's perfectly acceptable to send an email (or make phone call?) to your recruiter every 2 - 3 weeks, to make sure you stay on-their-mind and keep your process moving forward. (as Lucy put it, "keep you at the top of their in box"). So, if you've been waiting a while, send them a message or two every 2 - 4 weeks and say very politely that you are waiting patiently but you are ready-to-go and want them to keep you in mind. And also her video titled: "How much money I made working for Steiner/ The Onboard Spa" from August 2020. And maybe watch her video titled: "Which STEINER spa treatment should you specialize in as Beauty Therapist onboard cruise ships?" from March 2021. Of course she also has mentioned her experiences working in the on-board spa in other videos, as well as described her training at the Steiner academy, etc. I hope this helps?
