For anyone who heard about the crash, I’m a local and I have spoken to a few of the senior team (those who manage the specific areas of the park). And they have all confirmed that each train has 200+ safety features, which means the train can’t be sent no matter what if there’s a problem. So please, put your mind to rest and do not hesitate to give this a go!!

Also, the coaster did it’s job stopping at the top. It was the mix of the parks fault, for having it operating at higher winds than it should’ve, the operators for not communicating with the engineers and the engineers fault for not making sure where five cars were at the time of the stoppage, it’s very sad for the people who where seriously injured as this accident was completely preventable
@deejasart77663 жыл бұрын
@@caileyandrews2096 I know it’s just there are far too many stupid people. Like couldn’t the operators and maintenance be a bit more aware??? Why didn’t they look through the whole layout from start to end to see if there was a stalled train. But tbh Alton Towers takes most of the blame by opening the ride in higher winds than it’s meant to just cause there was loads of people in the park

Honestly, the cattlepen nature of the queue goes quite well with the theme and lore of the ride. The lore for the ride is that it's actually a correctional facility and Orwellian brainwashing machine operated by the ministry of joy, to induce an artificial state of happiness on people who are "unhappy". Such an organization would likely use cattlepen queues for a machine like this.

Story time: I went with some friends a few months ago and somehow managed to go on almost every ride in one day. At 4:30 pm, we had the choice to go on the last ride of the day, the smiler or Oblivion. We chose the smiler despite one of my friends being so terrified he was hyperventilating in the queue. This may have been caused by the ride breaking down 3 times during the 2 hour wait time. When we finally get on the ride 2 an hour and a half after closing time, we got lucky and got the front. Before the first loop my friend was repeating "this is it", still terrified. By the end, he couldn't stop smiling. This rollercoaster really lives up to its name and it's surely my favourite ride at the park

@@ScrewyLoops I'll be honest also, you are one of the reasons that I had started going on all the more 'intense' rides like nemesis and the smiler. I had first gone on galactica and found that j actually quite liked rolercoasters, then after watching your videos and others alike found that rolercoasters aren't as bad as I thought they would be. therefore I started going on rides like nemesis and was really enjoying them.

@@GLXYFPV Things like that give me a reason to keep making these kinda videos. I do them for fun but to see that they're having an impact on people like yourself means so much man! Thank you for the support, I'll give you a shoutout on the one I'm currently scripting up now ☺️👍

@@ScrewyLoops I'm sure they also have an impact on loads of others too, with the info about a ride before you go on it can sometimes make the difference between enjoying a ride and not liking it, for example I'm not a fan of the ride th13teen but I'm a fan of galactica, this could possibly be because I knew what the ride would be like on galactica but not for th13teen. oh and thanks man!

It’s really cool that Britain holds the number one and two spot for most inversions

I’m 10 and I went on this ride a few weeks ago. I was petrified but after it was my favourite ride there. I love the second lift hill and the double barrel role. I got to sit on the back with my dad and I was so nervous. I had to wait around 2 hours but it was so worth it!

I enjoy the smiler. My favourite part is the airtime hill in the 2nd part of the ride. On a separate note, I miss the black hole.

I remember when it was closed for a while I was listening to the song quite alot and I still love it to this day and hoping I would eventually get a ride on it. When they opened it I heard the theme song and got emotional cos I was finally going to get on it and it didn't disappoint 😁

The scariest part of the smiler is not its 14 inversions but the verticle lift hill, its the stuff of nightmares

Whenever we go to the theme park we get there BEFORE they opened the rides so like 30 mins earlier and to get into the queues of smiler and other popular but..... then now we buy the queue passes! Just tips!

Went on it last week. The only thrill ride I'd ever been on before was Nemesis Inferno about 10 years ago. I'm not an adrenaline junkie at all. I screamed all the way around, but once I'd done it it meant I couldn't really be scared of any other rides and I found I really enjoyed Nemesis, Galactica and Wicker Man afterwards.

I am the biggest anxiety freak ever and my friends managed to get me on this🤣literally had my eyes shut the whole time, head tucked into the safety bar and screamed for my mum!🤣don’t get me wrong it is such a smooth ride (we were on the front) and it does make you feel things you will never experience anywhere else

I first went on this ride when I was 12 (5”6, Ik I was a tall 12 year old) it was in 2014 and was the only person in my all teenager family who was daring enough to do it. Though I do remember being shaken around in the restraint like crazy due to my VERY skinny body at the time. Thanks to being a single rider I barely queued aswell. Has been on it 5 times since , 100% recommended. (And no my older brothers still havnt been brave enough to go on it )

re: lack of theming in the queue- from what i’ve heard, the queue used to be more detailed, but everything other than music was removed from it after the crash. a similar reduction in theming happened to oblivion as well since the videos played in that queue alluded to death a few times. however i can’t personally confirm this since i’ve never been to alton towers
