People don't even realize how much of a beast the PS4 Pro is with an SSD. I have a 4 TB Samsung Evo SSD inside. My load times for almost every game have been cut in half and texture Poppins are not even a problem anymore as well as the home screen being much snappier and responsive. Only time I use my PS5 is when I am playing a PS5 exclusive. Other than that PS4 Pro is my go-to.

Great video, I just recently sold my launch PS4 it was in mint condition and I had all the packaging & Box along with a second controller. All my PS4 games are playable on the PS5 so no loss there and I’ve still got my mint condition launch PS3 so I can play my PS 1 & 2 games on it if so desired. I never got the PS4 pro but it’s still a good console.

I'd like to throw in another reason to keep your PS4 around. If you purchased a PSVR headset, it makes for a great living room setup. I used to play it in my room and while it worked well enough, it was never ideal. But when i got my PS5, my PS4 Pro and PSVR went straight to the living room. And now it gets used more then before... 😉👍

Love the video. To anyone whose console sounds like a jet engine, please look up a video of how to open it and clean out the dust. It's not difficult to do and not going to break the system unless you are not somewhat careful. The ps4 slim is the worst, in my experience anyway, for collecting dust inside and starting to sound like a jet taking off but it takes less than 30 minutes to fix it.

To this day. I even still have my PS3 and dedicate a good portion of my time to cleaning the inside of it once per year and replacing the thermal paste once every few years. Although a good majority of the gaming community uses only modern consoles, there is also a good sum of people who will keep older consoles maybe for one of the following reasons: They will always enjoy going back to the consoles in time thanks to good memories in playing specific game titles or the money price value of specific consoles will possibly greatly increase in time. Referencing the PS4, I only have a PS4 Slim and only use it as a storage center for just PS4 games while I use my PS5 as a storage center for PS5 games. Sure I could get rid of my PS4 and play my PS4 games on my PS5 but that would just subtract the space I have available to play PS5 games. And sure, I could just buy maybe 4 tbs of extra storage for my PS5 and sell my PS4 but if I sold my PS4 Slim as a used device (technically that is exactly what it is), it's unlikely that I'll gain at least $350 profit selling it only to later on wanting to buy at least 4 TB of extra SSD space, which will likely cost me at least $200- $350. It's just better to keep my PS4 around.

If you're not confident about opening and cleaning the dust out of your ps3 and replacing the thermal paste, try to find a friend or family member or perhaps a trusted neighbor who will do it for you. It's not good to consistently play on a noisy PS3 console because that could cause unnecessary damage to the inner components of the system in the long run.@@GearsAndTech

I wanted a PS5 so bad when it first came out and couldn't find one for awhile. 2 yrs later after FINALLY getting one that enthusiasm just wasn't there anymore thx to scalpers. So my PS5 sits in a box in the attic. My PS4 and PS3 are still go to consoles besides my Switch to play games. I thought about selling my PS5 alot of times but finally decided to just keep in case MAYBE one day in a few yrs I'll get out a do something with it.

I am still playing Ps3, 360 and Wii. Those three are awesomme to have all. My Wii are also my Gamecube and I have many emulators on it. Everything stored on a USB HDD. Having a complete 7'th gen console collection, gives many hours of fun. And to be honest, it also gives the option of playing the best version of a game. I really like the 7'th gen.

@@Bobby8451 Thanks. Personally I have not yet bought any 9'th gen console yet. I know I will have to get a switch, as my son is fully in love with mario kart and mario bros. But Series X or Ps5!!! That is the big question. Yes I can add more storage to a Ps5. However the choices of games are larger on Series, when it is my personal taste. I dont care if the game is named Gran Turismo or Forza. I really dont care. But I find the state of backwards conpatibility on Series better, and then there are Flightsim. I have been playing Flightsim since 1987/88, when I discovered Flightsim3. My guess is that I will first get a switch, then one of the Series and finally get a Ps5. However that is many years into the future from now. I first have to get an Xbox One X and a Ps4 Slim in my collection.

My ps4 is almost 10 years old. It still works. I still use it sometimes. In my my mind it makes sense just to use it until it dies. The graphics and games are still good. Id rather my older console die first then my new console. Consoles can just break over time from use. They heat up. The longer you play the longer they heat up. I personally dont play for long. So my consoles last longer.

Dope video. In November of 2023, I brought my PS5 slim, basically during holiday season(3 year wait). I enjoying the experience thus far, also own a PS4 as well, "Gold 1TB Slim", a 2022 purchased from eBay. Despite becoming a PS5 owner, that didn't get me to withdraw from PS4 as i still got love for it, currently use it for gaming(old/new releases) and browsing the web, etc. As far as PS5 in General, it an astounding platform with enhanced attributes. The features that doesn't catch my attention as much are "Backwards Compatibility and free Upgrades. Any title that i have played, beaten or currently playing on PS4, i will not reiterate and play the PS5 version of that same title, it seem like the same game is being played in a way, but perspective from others could be different. I seen many video comparisons of particular games, and yes i understand that PS5 version always better due to better Visual, FPS, optimization, loading speed, etc. These enhancements does not matter much to me, if i'm playing an PS4 version of a certain title rather than the PS5 version, as long as the game runs well, i won't complain. As a PS5 owner, i have taken the initiative on playing titles that's available for current gen(PS5/Xbox Series) only. Not to mention that i own many goods, such as Plates, controllers, an SSD(8tb w/heatsink), even external cooling fan, etc. I'm digging the slim model, no regrets 😁. PSN: XSevenK

I'm selling mine after picking up one of these modern handhelds that are capable of emulating everything up until the ps3/xbox 360/switch. Everything is coming out on PC so I don't see the point in owning a console anymore. Just hook up one of these handheld PC's to an eGPU with a decent graphics card and you got a power gaming device that can outperform modern consoles and portable enough to take with you around/outside the house.

So I just purchased the PS5 slim disc version last week. I currently own a PS4 Pro Death Stranding Edition. It's in MINT condition. I never even used the matching BB controller that came with it. Got a ps4 pro 7200 cheap and used from ebay. Ripped it open put in a new 2tb mx500 with a 3tb hdd external for extra storage. New thermal paste and thermal pads. And most ps5 games are on ps4,so no reason thus far this generation to upgrade.

I got a ps5 and sold my ps4. I started trophy hunting Mortal Kombat X (ps4 game), and some trophies are only possible on ps4. You have to send a challenge to a friend and accept one of theirs, but that option only exists on ps4. So now I want to get one back

I have had many consoles in my life. Some times selling one, and buying a new of the same model. On my second Ps2 and second Super Nintendo. But yeah, mostly still on 7'th gen. Waiting to recieve my first Xbox One, the X model, but I doubt I will get any Ps4 or Ps5. For my personal use, it will be Series X. Reason for that is more offerings that I can personally use and then Flightsim. Flightsim are the main reason why Series X and not Ps5. And I really dont care if the game is called Forza or Gran Turismo. Gen 7 and going back, I would always choose Playstation. Still play Ps2, and that tell how much I like the game library from that machine. Still need to get a Dreamcast again though. That was an awesomme console.

I kept all mine. Some, I put up like PS1 and rely on ps2 to.play old ps1 games. There will be games that newer console might not be able to play. It's never 100% guaranteed. Perfect examples are Xbox og, 360, and Xbox one. It can only play certain bc games. I sold my nes and games along time ago and I bought it 15 years ago just for the nostalgia. I regret selling it when i was small. I bought and sold twice the og Xbox but only to buy it recently. It's best just to keep it. Selling it if it's a must event like a surgery and or a serious life event (must pay huge bill).

ps5 fully supports ps4 generation games with even better quality , so except nostalgic purposes i think there is no reason to keep this console.

Using a hackable PS4 is a great idea for mashup video arcade like games such as Double Dragon Reloaded Alternate Version and Final Fight with Capcom and Street Fighter characters as examples.

For me I’ve always kept my pasted consoles even to this day I have ever console I’ve ever owned going back to the saga Genesis the only console I probably will get rid of is my original 2013 style Xbox one because i ended up buying a Xbox one x in 2018 and I just think its silly to keep 2 consoles from the same generation i will keep my Xbox one x now that i have a series x console. I also plan on buying a ps5 sometime in the future i never got the ps4 but i do have a ps3 that i will also keep.

I will be returning to pc, but i did like ps4 pro, although it was difficult to keep it overheating and the disc drive failed, unsure if I can repair it perhaps just replace, although the model is the first issue not the better second gen ps4 pro, I have a ps5 now and going to reapply liquid metal after a year of playing cod.

I kept my PS4 pro but my boys have a slim ps4 but something went wrong the drive on PS4 slim is not working so my oldest son asked me if he can use my PS4 pro since it's been sitting there for a long while cause I got a PS5 already. I told him yes he can use it cause I told him anyways it's been sitting there collecting dust lol. But my oldest son has a PS5 also but my youngest son has been using a ps5 all the time but my oldest is using a PS4 pro now. So it's good to have a PS4 pro for a very good reason.

for me i rather sell my ps4 be i got my ps4 slim in 2018 when the ps4s life cycle was almost over and u taiked about keeping yr ps4 in a other room like yr bedroom or at yr girlfriends hose or other home like a cottage or thriller i wood ether sell it or keep at my mom and dads triler over the summer or i wood keep it there all year long and keep some whare nice and warm in the winter so my ps4 slim don'st freeze in the cold other then that my ps5 can pretty much everything my ps4 i already have one of my ps4 slims set in my panents basement the other is in a closet in a what used to my old bedroom/my sisters old bedroom i don't have any younger siblings that i could give that ps4 slim too

I have a old ps4 pro motherboard is still in bubble rap since it failed due to vapeing. isopropyl bathed worked few days failed again shipped to third party repair gamertech was mostly status repair on the site ordered south bridge eventualy got a refund via paypal ps4 pro was returned south bridge wasnt replaced apu was clamped down so tight at to use grippers to turn torkz what repair service bored a hole in & killed the board from a blod blue light to nothing

I would sell both the PS4 and PS5 and just switch to Nintendo, no bs with live service games with the best IPs which outsells PlayStation 3-1, Switch may be getting old but the Switch is the best thing to happen to gaming and saved me from turning my back on modern gaming, had a PS4 and didn’t get along with most of the games, so got rid of it and got a Switch and I couldn’t be happier.

From PS1, PS2, PS3, PS4 and PS5, the best consols for me is PS2 (the best for retro gaming) and PS3 is have so many games + retro games + media server (read and play all disks) CD and DVD (movie and music). The PS4 and PS5 just is suks for me.
