So glad that the first thing I did, before even moving in, was planting 12 fruit trees ! and after the 1st summer, I decided where to put my garden (so 4 months) and prepping the soil for the next season (I live in Canada).

Also, creating a good relationship with the neighbors. SO important. One of my neighbor let me borrow tools, another one gave me her gardening bed she was about to demolish, my daughter just made a bestfriend... Being nice with people can be very resourceful !
