In many ways I think Shocking Blue have similarities to ABBA but still both bands have their own individuality too. I love them both and I agree that the old music from the 70s and 80s is the best!

I can't believe that anyone would compare a Proto Metal band that was guitar oriented with a single Vocalist to a multi Vocal based Pop music band. Shocking Blue was closer to Jefferson Airplane than Abba. The Jackson 5 , the Bee Gees, the Andrew Sisters, and the Beach Boys all share more in common with Abba. AKA the Captain and Tanneil from Sweden than Shocking Blue does.

Jemig Ik had al iets verwacht toen ik hierop klikte, maar dat de eerste tonen van Mariska's stem me al zo enorm kippenvel bezorgden vanaf de eerste toon, zelfs of juist omdat het een cover is, is iets dat me heel zelden overkomt. De laatste vergelijkbare keer was bij het beluisteren van een uitvoering van de Messiah van G. F.. Haendel in de uitvoering met dirigent Karl Richter....kreeg van de eerste tonen kippenvel en tranen in de ogen. We missen je, Veertje met je gouden stembanden.
