Apparently I’m 8 years late to finding your page but still wanted to say how much I appreciate you posting these lessons. As a bass player who tries to hack my way through learning songs on guitar as well, these followable lessons are incredibly helpful! This is a top 3 REM song for me off my favorite album of theirs, so being able to play it now is an instant inducer of smiles over here 🙌🏼

Just a side note: That opening lick, played with a slightly different rhythm is also how you end Rush Temples of Syrinx.

Really appreciate the riffs explained here. And loving the perfect distortion on your Rick. Oh how I want one! Thanks for this latest installment on your R.E.M. lesson channel.

+Christian Hahn +Dead Letter I actually had a 330 and and a 360 both black and in comparing them the 360 had a bit more bass and sounded fuller than the 360 so I ended up selling the 330. I came very close to selling the 360 and even had posted it on Craigslist and had a change of heart brought the listing down and I'm glad I did. www.randomlava.com/images/rick2.jpg I sold the AC30C2 also. Overkill. I love the sound +Fast Ocular is getting from his Twin Reverb. I ended up getting a Bugera V22 which I like better then the AC30 but now toying with idea of getting a AC15C1(Love the Tremelo) Excellent Video +Fast Occular those hammer on's in the solo will be work for me but for the most part this is an easy song to play except for the solo

If you route your mic through a compressor the volume of your voice instruction will be brought up and the volume of your guitar work will be brought down. This will improve the overall production of your video presentation. Good work!

This is a pretty cool site for backing tracks. Not always the best sounding but serviceable www.guitarbackingtrack.com/play/rem/begin_the_begin.htm

+pat brown Thanks...I've actually used that site before. You're right, some of it is good but some is not. Serviceable but not something I would really record with :-)
