Quick tip: If for some reason your image sequence was loaded backwards this can be quickly changed/fixed by selecting the sequence and by going to the bottom right side of the screen and where you should see multiple properties. Search for "Video", click it, and finally click "Reverse frames". Hope it helped!

You can also delete the sequence you added to the timeline and reimport your images. But before you select them in the file browser, toggle the date modified so that file 1 is at the top, instead of file 160. Then when you add the sequence back in it will be in the correct order.

I rarely comment on KZbin videos; usually, I only leave a thumbs-up. However, since 2011, I've been trying to learn 3D in various software, but I kept repeating the process and failing until I eventually stopped in 2013. Now, thanks to your tutorial, I can actually model, animate the camera, and render. It feels like a miracle! I started the tutorial and finished it in 3 days, and I also took notes on every step and redid the entire process whenever I closed Blender to practice my muscle memory and really understand how each step works. Thank you so much for making the tutorial easy to understand, especially for beginners like me who have always struggled with and been afraid of 3D. You're the best!

Andrew, I really hope you get to see my post here as I want to tell you something. Mate, you've changed my life. I promise you, you have changed my life in a way I'm sure you'd never imagined a 'simple' donut series would have ever done. I won't bore you with all the details, but as a very jaded, disillusioned, tired (and veteran) 3DS Max user (tired of simple things that will never ever get fixed but which I now know were what were eating at my desire to continue in this 3D community that I love so much), you've awoken the 3D passion back within me. Yes, you, and Blender, have awoken the passion that I thought I'd lost and have back again. I have 90% done this donut series (I've yet to make the animation, but I will!), and your videos and wonderful instruction have nudged me to search for other talented KZbin Blenderers, and now, within just a few weeks, I am pretty confident (but slow) with this amazing piece of software. I'm also in awe at the generosity of this 'new' open-source community I have discovered. Some would say I'm late to the party than a lot of others, but I've made it, and I truly can tell you that not only is learning Blender a joy and a blast and an eye-opener regarding 3D and my passion, but it has also taught me a lot about myself and about life. Yes, it's that deep! All from a donut tutorial series !!! Who'd have thought it :) Andrew, thank you, thank you, thank you!

I did it, I never wanted to make a donut, I probably will never make a super detailed realistic food scene ever again, but the simple addition of having actionable steps any time you introduce a new tool or hotkey has sped up my growth with blender so drastically, I had watched other blender videos but whenever something was explained it wouldn't be long before the information just left my brain. Being able to actually put the information to the test as soon as I learned it has really helped the information stick.

Thank you , Blender Guru. Congratulations to everyone who made it to the end , I’d like to leave my short story of what-all happened while I was learning blender. My favourite part had to be animation by far , least favourite was definitely making the sprinkles. I had to restart the whole playlist a couple of times but the most important thing was not to give up , I started from scratch because I kept messing stuff up ( I didn’t know Ctrl + Z existed) . It took me a total of 3 days to get through it all the only part I didn’t get done was the Rendering one (laptop too slow). I’m gonna learn more blender now that I’ve completed the Donut tutorial , who knows future-me will probably stumble upon this comment years later after I’ve gotten much better at blender , till then keep creating whatever you can regardless of if it is good or bad the time you put into stuff never goes to waste and you will always learn something , never give up. Thank you

For folks who finished and are looking for extra credit, an older version of this tutorial included a step for detailing the exposed surface of the donut that really helps make it look less rubbery, and I think does a good job of introducing some fancier shading techniques. It's for older version of blender so there are a few minor differences (like "Material Preview" being called "Look Dev", and some different inputs in the principled shader), but nothing too hard to follow and adapt. kzbin.info/www/bejne/iJmYmHSHgdmCotU

Took a week to get to the end. I'm coming over to Blender after 20 years with Max, 4 years with Maya and I've got a lot of years with Zbrush (which I love). I've always just been fine with modeling, but after watching Blender evolve over the decade and seeing what people were producing with it now, I knew it was time to switch. I made some classic blunders along the way, overwriting files mostly in trying to learn the tool set and having to retrain my brain to work with hotkeys and menus, which I haven't really bothered with before. I've also spent some time with a few of the great add ons for modeling. Thanks for putting this together, it helped a lot.

Took me 14 hours but I finally finished it! I love the results and I want to thank you SO SO SO much for making this whole process actually enjoyable and fun. Learning can sometimes be frustrating but you managed to set a nice mood with your viewers, which I believe is also of great importance! I can't wait to create so much more with your guidance and hopefully become a good creator! Cheers

The variations at the end are JUICY. Thanks so much for putting these tutorials together, and keeping them up to date!! I watched the 3.0 tutorials last year when I was thinking about learning Blender and more familiarizing myself, but after seeing the 4.0 come out I got motivated to actually get into Blender this time and create things. I've learned so much so quickly by working through these, super appreciate the time and effort you've put into these.

If only all tutorials on the internet could be as clear, helpful and realistically achievable as this one. Highly recommended to anybody wishing to make a start in the 3D world whether for work or pleasure!

I thank you Blender Guru for making this series for new begineers on Blender (that includes me!) It was a fantastic journey but I had to like post-pone some of the parts due to being busy. In the end, I completed this series for like a month now, but I'm happy with the result. I also thank for everyone who came all the way from 0 to 100, and finished this series once and for all. A new horizon has began... good luck to everyone! I wish you all the best at creating amazing models or animations or movies or whatever!

Honestly, I'm not even surte what would have made this tutorial better. I got halfway through the last one and this one came out and the new one was already way better! I was already enjoying the last one. Thanks! This is a great introduction.

Thank you so much for this series. As a full time dad its hard to learn new things on my own but now completing “the donut tutorial” in 2 days im looking forward to my 1 year progress video. You made me feel like i can do it

I literally NEVER leave comments, but I had to stop by and say THANK YOU for all that you do. You made learning this scary software seem fun and I am excited to continue practicing and get as good as you!!

Thank you Andrew. Several years ago I completed one of your earlier doughnut videos and found it extremely helpful in getting me going with Blender. But my 'regular job' took away the time I needed to go too much further. Now I am retired, and am jumping back in with renewed interest. This latest video was a great refresher. Thanks again. Also thanks to some of the commenters whose suggestions got me past some of problems I encountered.

This series was such an immense blessing! It taught me so much! With each episode I felt my confidence and motivation increase. We'll obviously all need to continue learning Blender for a long time but at least we've got ourselves some solid foundation here, and going for these more intermediate-ish or specific guides will be a lot easier. Thank you for being such a wholesome and good teacher and redoing this whole series regularly to keep up with Blender's evolution/updates.

I've just completed your tutorial series, initially driven by mere curiosity. However, I must express my profound gratitude for the passion and clarity evident in your videos. They've not only inspired me to embark on the full course but also to challenge myself in this field. Equipped with the basics you've provided, I'm now eager to delve into more Blender tutorials as I venture further into game development. Recently, I even followed a tutorial on Unreal Engine 5. With this knowledge, I aspire to create my own objects, and who knows, perhaps one day even fully playable characters! Thank you, Blender Guru, for this invaluable experience.

I started struggling during the lighting video but I went ahead and messed around with it myself to get something decent and I'm extremely proud. Ill have to make more donuts but try to do it without relying on the guides unless necessary. Subscribed and will make sure to continue learning thanks to you.

I have a Lenovo Legion gaming laptop that I got in 2023, so I came into the rendering thinking that my laptop could handle it in pretty decent speed, so I left the video to render overnight and wow.. only managed 60 frames haha. A humbling experience, though not that bad! I suspect it'll be done in the next 24 hours though. I'm stoked to see the final result! This tutorial was awesome, Andrew you do an excellent job at teaching us! Thanks so much!

I haven't done the complete final part yet because even at 300 samples, it took my laptop like 90 minutes to get through 4 frames. I now appreciate all the things I didn't even think about before. Thanks for this. I'm keen for your next series. I'd pay for it given the quality of your videos.

I commented a few months back on a prior episode, and it's finally exporting! I've got this, some courses from Miziziz and other 3D graphics work on the go now, thanks to you! :) Donated to the blender foundation and now really appreciate the SHEER depth of how much work goes into both your tutorials, and the work into Blender as well; HBomberguy did a Patreon video about creating a 3D version of his set in Blender, and talked about how important open-source software is, and I think that, and your tutorial really shows how much camaraderie and mutual care for craft we all have for one another. Much love for this tutorial, very big fan of it, looking forward to being able to come back and comment after a few more years to see where things go! :o

I wait here as I render my final project, but everything I've done so far has looked pretty good. I remember having a bunch of problems the first donut tutorial I attempted years ago and gave up countless times. This time, however, I actually managed to go through the whole tutorial without any issues and I stayed somewhat focused the entire time. Wanted to thank you for the new tutorial and helping me get up on yet another stepping stone in Blender. There's still so much to learn but I know its only achievable as I put more practice into it myself, but I now know some of the basics when it comes to modeling, sculpting, texturing, geometry nodes, shading nodes, etc. Of course, I'll dive into UV unwrapping (but that will be a difficult chapter for another day). Thank you Mr. Blender Guru for your help. Cannot wait to get better at Blender and see what else I can do in the future!

I discovered Blender with your 2nd donut tutorial a few years ago, went on to do the chair and the anvil, a few other tutorials and left. Went back for the 3rd donut version. Did not do much since, but I think I'm finally ready to really dig into learning Blender seriously after this one ! My personnal favorite tutorial was the 2nd because of the variety of things being done (loved the coffee cup !) and the donut texture (I can still remember the struggle to make that texture but so happy to make it work !) I think this one had the best introduction, scene and render, but maybe a bit cartoonish for my liking. But as always it's a pleasure to follow along, still the only channel that takes the time to show things while beeing super clean in the actual process. It really helps to build good habits. Thank you so much for your work !

As a student learning computer graphics, this tutorial was so fun to follow, and I got the hang of it almost immediately. Your tutorials were very easy to go through, and I got a lot out of it going through the basics and experimenting on my own a little bit. I added star shaped sprinkles to my donut instead of the large spheres. Yummy!

It was an amazing course! I would say one of the best I've watched. Usually no one says about the size of the model, so when you mentioned it, I was 100% sure that your course would be really useful! Thank you very much and we look forward to your next course!
