That was, by far, the most informative, easy to understand KZbin instruction use video I've ever watched in my life. And what a great idea to add some postive reinforcement at the end. What a great instructor/teacher you must be. Thank you very much, sir. *And what a great way to encourage others to indirectly communicate to those that watch instructions videos, that we're not using tool's wrong. That instead to troubleshoot a solution with the tools we have. Well said, sir

I inherited a combo square from my grandpa. It sat in the bottom of my toolbox for 20 years before I found a reason to use it (I'm not a super big project kind of guy), but it came in handy when I finally needed it to rebuild a wooden fence gate.

So many channels spend too much time gabbing, making jokes, not to mention cinematic intros. lol I prefer to get in and get out with the info I need vs. hang out for the day. I like your style because you SHOW what you are talking about vs. just talking about it and THEN demonstrating it. Great job. On another note, I have a quick question: If you were to choose one, would you get a speed square or a combination square? Do I need both? II am interested in woodworking, not carpentry.

Hey Jeff! Go with the combination square. :)

The scribe tool is used to scratch into steel plates. To cut using torch for later. Iron workers use this too everyday to get 45° angles on a plate and make cuts.

Great information, although a bit fast paced for me 😁 I will have to re-watch a few times to soak it all in as I am not a wooder. Another use for this tool on the mechanics side of things, (which is why I got one,) is to use it to set the offset on a harley spoked wheel. Set straight edge against the hub with the square against the side of the hub. Use the level for getting it just right, and then measure the distance from the hub end to the rim. Make spoke adjustments as needed to move left or right. there ya go!

You can also use the square as a compass to draw circles.
@kobragangbit2 ай бұрын
how???
@TheMovieUniverse2 ай бұрын
@@kobragangbitfirst you need to have a square with a hole. Assuming you have one this is how you do it. First adjust the square to where you want it so you can make the right size circle. Be sure the 45 degree angle is facing up. Next put a nail through the hole in the ruler and hold it tightly Then put a pencil in the 45 degree piece and draw a circle.
