Wow with so many roundabouts on the first lesson I would have cried 😂 props to you both Also I was a bit confused at first, cuz here in Germany we don’t indicate turning when entering a roundabout, instead we have to indicate when we are leaving, as long as we’re driving through the roundabout and don’t indicate a turn, for others it’s the signal that we stay in the roundabout Interesting to learn about the rules in other countries!
@wrightwoodwork3 ай бұрын
If you where going right would you signal so people waiting at the junction. So they know to go . Or is it enter once they have left if that makes sense
@elantricity3 ай бұрын
@@wrightwoodwork I am not quite sure if your comment is a question, but I assume so and will try to explain what we have to do in order to drive through a roundabout here. So if I wanna enter a roundabout, I do not indicate anything but I have to watch approaching cars that are already inside the roundabout and are heading my direction. if they are facing me and indicating right, they’re going to leave the roundabout so I can enter safely. But if they are facing me and do not indicate a turn, they will not leave the roundabout hence I can’t enter. Once it’s free to go, I enter the roundabout and just drive around without a signal. No matter which exit I wanna take, I need to indicate that just a few moments before with a signal to the right, so let’s say I wanna go straight, that’s the second exit, I pass the first exit then I turn on the signal, indicating I will leave the roundabout on the next exit and therefore telling the people entering the roundabout from the second exit, that it’s free to enter
@wrightwoodwork3 ай бұрын
@@elantricity yeah that's the same here the only difference is we would indicate left for 1st exit before entering as it gives traffic time to go before we enter the roundabout. Where you will enter the roundabout then signal if taking the first exit. All the rest is the same it was that 1st exit I was curious with . To me by the time you've signaled and left the roundabout they will only be just get going and the signal in my mind is almost pointless as they know you're leaving. Where by signaling for the first exit the cars waiting know they can enter and have more time to go as they know you're taking the 1st exit. We are taught to think what people are going to do before entering thy enter the roundabout and also are they signaling to leave the roundabout the same as you
@elantricity3 ай бұрын
@@wrightwoodwork ooh maybe I need to rewatch the video, they did not indicate anything when exiting on the second exit, did they? And indicated right when taking the third exit. And yeah, we do not indicate when entering the roundabout even when taking the first exit, in fact that is not allowed here. The people at the first exit have to wait until I have entered the roundabout and need to watch out if I immediately turn on the right signal. There are some people that indicate right before entering when taking the first exit but it can cost them 10 € 😂

At 14:25 you said to always come off the brake to find the biting point. I'm only a few lessons in and I've been told to hold the footbrake then find the biting point then release the footbrake and give it gas? Will I be damaging the car if I do it this way?
@wrightwoodwork3 ай бұрын
Minimum wear, you ain't holding the bite for 20 minutes. When you start to do monouvers you will hold the biting point longer to give control. You need to use a certain amount of bite and hold the clutch a little so don't worry about it
@crimsonnl23493 ай бұрын
@@wrightwoodwork Sorry I should've been more clear, I only meant when moving off uphill I do that so it won't be for 20 mins it will be for around 10 seconds maximum. When completely stopped in standstill traffic I just put it into neutral and relax my clutch foot and hold the footbrake or sometimes handbrake if i wanna relax completely.

If going left put your leff hand anywhere between 11 to 1 o'clock, you can even go around to 2. Then pull to 6. The right-hand hand start pushing around 5 to 6. Once yoi hsve the required steering its a case of balance the steering in your hand so if you need to go tighter you can or reduce the tightness you can. Dont have your hands crossed at 3 and 9 with no room for your hands to move
