I feel like this was recommended to me so that I could save a life. With all due respect, sell that bike and size down. You have zero business riding a 1000cc superbike. Let your ego go, you look incredibly uncomfortable. These things are not toys.

@@BUILTMARO2.0T Bro, sell the 1000cc bike before it sells you to the hospital-it’s way too much power for someone with no experience or training. Start smaller, like a 300cc or 400cc, and actually learn to ride safely before going big.

starting on a 1K is the stupidest thing you can do; basically every mistake you make will be magnified by 10 due to the amount of torque that bike has. youre also missing out on a lot of fundamentals by starting with autoblip and a quickshifter. hopefully you stay safe homie and dont get over confident.

The bike is heavy and sensitive also you’re in a racing position. Keep the bike and just buy a ninja 400 beater until you log a few thousand miles. Unless this is a fake video… the first time you have to emergency stop you’re to hit a car and that may be the end of you. Just watching you ride makes me anxious!

You can also get a brand new corvette for your first car ever and I’m sure that would be fine for the average “new rider” as the guy said in the video. We are never talking about the 4 out of 1000 people who “may” be fine starting on a liter bike. We are talking about the overwhelming majority of people that will not. And by the way, been riding bikes for 40 years, licensed for 35 years and have owned 4 sport bikes. Why do I say that info? Because many people in the fake online world seem to assume people who give responsible advice must not be a biker. (Not saying you, but many)

The liter bike is fine If… you respect the throttle, don’t ride faster than your skill level, never let other drivers force you to drive past your comfort zone. Learning as you go is great, just learn to create good, safe habits. Time on the bike is key. Focus on perfecting one skill at a time. I have only been riding since October and have made so much progress in my first two months. Welcome to the wonderful world of two wheel adventure 🎉. Note I developed a lot of my skills on the e-bikes I bought in February, that balance skill transfers!

As a fellow new rider, you should downsize as soon as possible. Giving its a 2024 GSXr 1000 im assuming you could recoup whatever you spent, buy a used 600 or lower and pocket/save whatever the difference is
@Boebus666
@Boebus666 3 күн бұрын
I know, everyone is telling you to size down. But listen, Keep that GSXR. Ride it and then ride it some more. You'll reach a point where you feel really comfortable on it. Its already teaching you a lot. But I would recommend that you get a second smaller bike (preferably a supermoto) to ride around town, that bike will teach you a lot too, which you will take back to your GSXR and become a better rider. For now, ride safely and follow all speed limits, learn how to be smooth on the bike. You're drinking from a firehose at the moment and that's okay. You are learning and growing as a rider. The most important thing to have is a calm stable head. Don't be tempted to push the bike beyond your limits and practice slow speed stuff, emergency braking and highway riding. Any motorcycle can kill you if you let it by being silly. You tell it how fast to go, you tell it where to go and you are its master. Master this, and you will have no issues on any other Bike. Its a serious machine and deserves your respect. Its a very capable motorcycle and one day soon your skills will catch up. Take it slow, easy and gentle for now. Congratulations on the GSXR!

Tips for a beginner: - Position your right wrist so that when you full pin your wrist, you are not full pinning the throttle itself (this will save you from whiskey throttling) - Always look out for uneven pavements when coming to a stop, make sure that the pavement your foot will land is not uneven - Loosen your grip on both hands, keep your core engaged to take off the stress on your wrist - NEVER use your front brake FULLY on SLOW TURNS (you will go down if you cant handle the bikes weight) - Always be gradual on using both brakes - Practice emergency braking (Yes, you will sooner or later experience a situation where you WILL HAVE TO brake hard on both brakes) Congrats on the bike! Be humble and stay disciplined on the road. Stay alive at all costs.

Solid advice What i fear for this guy is coming to a hill having to hold the rear brake and get the control right without panicking and dumping the clutch. I've seen it a lot with new riders. Another would be when he gets used to handling the bike in corners and gets on the power whilst leaning and slides out. I feel this stuff is going to happen doing it this way on a 1000cc but hopefully not.

Haha, the hard shifts.. i remember this when I started on my liter bike. I would ride around my back yard and block using only clutch and first gear before getting comfortable with the throttle. I rode with a low right wrist in town to ensure I didn't whisky throttle while learning to get comfortable. Riding on highways and did normal wrist positioning. Counter steering came pretty natural and riding in general and I am very comfortable pushing the bike after a couple thousand miles. I am glad you did the msf course, I wish you did it earlier. I did mine the same week I bought the bike. Pay attention to road surface conditions, try to avoid riding in the rain for now, be mentally prepared for vehicles to cut a little too much in on corners, don't send it in residential areas and always be aware and try to read traffic. I dont recommend starting on a liter bike, but I wouldn't sell the bike at this point, the money u would lose might be best served getting a beater bike to practice in the meantime.

Dont put yourself in a position or anyone else on the road in a position to where you are worried about stalling at a light, or shifting to slow on the road. They dont know your brand new, just like that cop that was behind you. He sees the 360 camera mount on your bike so they probably think you are gonna showboat and follow you for awhile. Get certified and gain confidence and you will be ok.

Making turns, requires counter weight, using the foot peg while turning put body weight on opposite side of the turn. If turning right you are putting weight on the left foot peg while turning. Can also be accomplished by leaning your upper body again opposite direction of the turn. Takes practice, I work on a skill almost every time I ride, especially the first 15 minutes in slower speed zone. Be safe and respect your self enough to care to learn to stay safe.

I did my driving license when i was 22 years old (iam from Germany) and we have to drive a bike with a maximum horse power of 48 till we are 24 years old, so we cant get a 1000cc or 600cc as a first bike. But i am really happy that i did not start on an 1000cc just because its much harder to learn riding on those, you need a lot of time to get used to read the traffic and earn the awareness while riding. Now iam 28 years old and got my first 600cc and still learning to ride the bike properly and trying not to kill me or other people with those Sportbikes. Please just be careful and take your time to get a safe and smart rider!

But no reward is better than the feeling of being able to ride weeks on end without having dropped your bike a single time. It tells you that you are improving your riding skills. It is slowly becoming second nature to you. For those who don’t drop their bike, or struggle with learning to ride, we don’t really care. Ride your ride, worry about your own self. Why do people think all people starting on a 1000 is just because they’re a dare devil? If you like the bike get it. Just be smart and responsible and you’re good. You only live once. If you get a 1000 don’t expect it to be practical, fun, or easy. If you don’t have much skills or experience you’ll always be on edge, scared, or just held back severely which kind of limits the enjoyment of it. But if you don’t care and you genuinely like the bike good for you Edit: why the fuck are you in 3rd gear at 35 miles an hour bro 😭.

One of the keys to safe riding is knowing what dangers to look out for and driving defensively. Look, you asked for advice. Here it is. I’ve been riding for like 4 years now. Started on a ninja 500, went to a 650, went to a zx6, and now I’m on an XSR900. You might screw up. You might not. The point is that when you do, it’s going to be MAJOR on this bike. Accidentally hammering the throttle is a LOT less dangerous on a ninja 400 than it is on a 1000. This is the case for literally any mistake. I know that financially this was probably a tough decision, and you probably aren’t in a place to just re-sell it, but if you are, do. It’s not just about safety. You are missing out on an entire motorcycle experience you will never have now. 400 cc bikes will likely never be exciting to you after starting on this. You won’t be able to work your way up and get the multiple different and exciting experiences that come with riding different power trains. If you don’t sell it for safety, sell it because you’re gonna miss out on a lot of fun experiences by starting on this bike. Also, get some sliders. Especially if you’re dropping a lot. LEAVE IT IN C MODE. Also, people telling you that you’ll get bored of a 600cc in a year, probably don’t know how to ride that well.

It's okay to start on a 1000cc motorcycle if you're comfortable with it and respect its power. As long as you approach it with caution and awareness, the experience can be rewarding. Personally, I'm 19 and started on a 2022 GSXR 1000, and I'm doing great with it. Just remember to always ride safely and stay within your limits!

Congrats for your first bike! What others thinking about it, does not matter! Are you happy with it? Do you feel, you can hadle it? Good for you! But I have to say, sooner or later every biker will fell. I have fell (not once and not twice) and I have to say you will fell, it is coded in the biking. Not because your bike are too heavy or too strong for a beginner. New bikes has electronics, ABS and traction control, it can save your beginner @ss from mistakes, but not from the biggest. Sh1t happens, when your confidence level builds higher than your biking experience level. IT WILL BE. There are a problem with your beginner bike choose and it is not the weight, not the power nor the displacement. If you have common sense, you can handle them, but your first bike choose shows the lack of the common sense. The problem is the style, the building mode. It is a sportbike and you (as so many, like myself, without enough speed, muscles and proper education) putting weight on your handlebars. Your arms are stiff/rigid, the weight of your upper body are rely partially on your handlebars, and of course they are not wide enough (sportbike...) for good and proper street handling. Sportbikes builds for a special reason. They are street legal enough for a ride to the racetrack and back from there. The racetrack requires that, what a sportbike gives. Proper high speed maneuvers/cornering, high intesity braking are nearly the opposite, what the street riding requires from bike perspective. A good naked bike are much better choice for street riding. Better sitting position, much more upright upper body, wide and higher handlebar and bigger turning angle for your front tire from lock to lock. What you can do? As soon as you can (ASAP) go and find a good school (active/retired police officer) and LEARN, even after an MSF course you can (need..) to go other courses. Trainigs are the best thing they gives much more safety than a carbon fiber full face Arai helmet. We see, you can do the basics, you can handle the clutch in a basic level (never pull it in when cornering, bad habit) you can do very basic level cornering, and you can stopping at the red light/stop sign. You have to build up from here. Proper clutch handling, proper slow speed maneuvers (it is the basis of the normal speed road/street maneuvers), proper emergency braking/bypass techniques (no, the ABS itself won't do it for you), proper sitting position, how to feather your handlebar, normal and countersteering techniques, how to not tippy-toeing. Will it be hard? Yes it will be, because you have choose the hardest way possible. A sportbike. It can be better, when you have the possibility, to buy a smaller, much better handling bike for your first bike (a used KTM 390 Duke will be fine) and I have to say it will be at least funny (and much-much safer and playful) for you, as your sportbike in your beginner stage. I think the overall costs will be lower after selling the smaller bike than doing a mistake with your sportbike. You will do. Everyone will do. I hope I will do, because it means I am doing what I am loving. 🙂

Bro, you are sitting on top of a two wheeled cruise missile. Put it in C mode, there it is much more tamed down and more forgiving then it is in A mode. You might want to take your traction control up to around 10 or so as well. You've got a set of goose eggs on you, but be smart. Pick and choose when and where you ride - where there's little to no traffic - so when you do make mistakes, you're not making them around vehicles that weigh a couple tons or so. Get in a parking lot and learn your slow speed manuevers, countersteering, and counter balancing. Be safe, young brother.

Also the experience off going full throttle on a smaller bike with a way lower risk of dying is better ahahaha, stay safe.

A little bit of my advice - Never hop on the bike when you are not able to fully focus. Especially when youre a beginner. These bikes do NOT tolerate mistakes. It requires precise input at all times. And as a beginner, be careful with the clutch. Even when learning things like rev matching, you can mess up real bad as a beginner. If you're going to start big don't do a 1k please, it will kill you if you haven't already gotten miles and time under you're belt. If you truly want to start on a faster bike I'd suggest an R7 and increasing from there. Trade in that 1k for a R3, R7 or something of a similar cc (NOT AN R6...) an R7 will teach you much of what you need to know while still having the torque and feel of being fun. Though you're doing great especially for your 3rd time riding the bike I'd hate to see you crash or make a fatal mistake that leaves you hurt or worse!

I see a lot of the common comments & I get it, but I’m gonna trim from the other side of the bush. The issue I see is you’re just unfamiliar with riding in general. The issues that you have on this bike won’t go away completely with a smaller bike. Things like low speed maneuvers & clutch work are important to move any bike regardless of size. Understanding the gear you’re using & why you should be using it. The only problems I see are you questioning things that seasoned riders don’t. I never question what gear I’m in or should be in. I never question which direction I should kick the lever. I never question which brake I should use. If you want to be a good rider, stay in the parking lot a little longer & burn the control into your memory. & not just wear they are, but how you interact with them. It’s important to know where the clutch is, but more important that you know how to use it. Along with the other controls. Stay safe, congrats on the bike… go back to the parking lot for your benefit
@StewieTopless
@StewieTopless 3 күн бұрын

anyone that rides, or just knows about bikes even would agree that watching you ride this 1000cc is extremely hard to watch. Also, riding on the roads with zero experience or MSF is not at all a flex. You're going to kill yourself. Take the MSF course and downgrade to a 300cc-600cc. Work your way up man, in a few years with proper practice you could easily get on a 1000cc, and be way more comfortable. You literally have Yammie on your case about this. Listen to him and everyone telling you to get off this bike. Be safe & smart.
