Only just come across your channel 🙂 I hope you don't take this the wrong way, but while you might not be the best UK woman angler on youtube.....you are the best UK angling channel that's run by a woman. Keep up the great work and tight lines. Cheers, Ian (Christchurch, NZ)

@@fishinghinny - have watched a few more of your videos now. It's good to see you carried on, and the way you're learning and improving your angling skills is a great way to honour Mark's memory 🙂 One question (forgive me, but I'm from the other side of the world !!) - what's a Hinny? I know what the word really means and I suspect that's not how you're using it !! Is it a Geordie term?! All the best, Ian (Christchurch, NZ)
@fishinghinny
@fishinghinny 7 ай бұрын
Thanks Ian ‘Hinny’ is a term of endearment here in the North East UK, so yes, a Geordie word for referring to a woman or girl 👍

Great little vid and agree about watching KZbin anglers rather than ‘proper’ telly. Much the same here. P.S. you are not alone in being a less than successful angler who nonetheless loves the peace and relaxation of being on the rocks. With all the money I’ve spent on gear and travel spread over all the fish I’ve caught over the years I must be averaging about £200 per fish !

Well done Hinny! Try High tide next time, with the same tactics. Take rubbish home, but just chuck old bait into the sea, it just feeds the fish ! Get some daylights too.

Brilliant job, just found your vids and was thrilled to find a spot to fish of the rocks closer than Eyemouth. I tried your marks this morning early doors but nothing was for the biting other than razorbills chasing the sandeel lures. I'm going to try a dead bait next time after seeing your success. Keep up the great vids and tight lines🐟

Thanks Ryan We were catching Mackerel up there two Tuesdays ago, very early for them. Yeh, the razorbills can be an issue, as can the seals when they turn up 😜🤦🏻‍♀️

Really enjoyed that! Well done on catching your first filmfish, there’s no better feeling 👏👏 As for advice…. You seem to have it all in hand if you ask me 🤷‍♂️ Always tougher to catch fish on an ebbing tide at Dunstanburgh so maybe next time fish up to high water and hopefully you’ll have a feast of fish 👍👍 Well Done 👏

Great video brilliant to see you finally catch a nice codling a couplpe of tips firstly u may find 2 hours before and after high tides are usually the best time to catch. secondly the line on your spinning rod sounds a little heavy and hen it is too heavy it slows your cast down as a rule between 8 and 12 b line is best as you will rarely catch anything that big from shore. Tight lines you have another subscriber.

Hi There are plenty around the north east, too many to mention, here’s just a few : Rock marks along the Lea’s at South Shields and Marsden, Collywell Bay and Seaton Sluice, Newbiggin (north of the bay), rock marks all around Craster to the north and south, Dunstanburgh Castle, Eyemouth, St Abbs. All of these can be fished with lures. Tight lines 👍🎣🐟

I've fished there (and the area) loads and caught very few fish over the years, yet you'd think it was the perfect mark, I've come to the conclusion that it's because of the large seal population. If Nathan, Dave or Craig watch this they'll be rolling round at 'Jelly Eel' lol.
@fishinghinny

Haha, I hope they do have a laugh at it, it would be mint if they were watching as me and Mark watch all of their videos. I agree about the seals, we always see them there, and they’ll be hungry buggers 😆

The best of anglers sometimes have to accept that on certain days they just won't catch, while someone doing exactly the same thing can do no wrong. Well done, but don't beat yourself up if you get a naff day on the water.

when you cast leave it dont wind just leave it count ten you only have a small weight let it drop then bring back slow and lift the rod tip up then back down slower is better with lures and impart movement into the lure
