Brian - I tried out this pattern yesterday on a local lake (North Willamette Valley, Oregon)I fish on a regular basis....OMG! The takes were solid and all of the fish were hooked in the upper lip/nose and were easily released. I used a size 10 barbless emerger hook and olive brown marabou and just incredible the number of fish. A stunning success beyond anything I've ever experienced with a new pattern. Definitely a "go to" from now on. I've been at this "game" a long time and don't usually comment on fly videos but this was just too good not to say THANK YOU for this easy to tie minimal material pattern. - JT

Hi Brian: Thanks for sharing this pattern. I am just learning to wrap the maribou for a body. We like to fish in lakes, and i have to compete w/my wife who uses a worm and a bobber, while i try different wet fly patterns. Have you noticed each lake has a different color preference for leeches and woolly bugger types? Thank you, randy

Yes, every lake has different color insects based on the vegetation, feed, and water clarity. Most prominent Leech colors are Maroon, Black/Brown, and Dirty Olive Green. Hope this helps.
