Quite a few years ago I painted all but one of my mahogany pieces with BP. There were fewer color choices back then. Did a four-poster bed, antique dresser, very large wall unit, dining set, sewing cabinet, as well as lamp base, lamp shade, pillow shams, night stand and a plastic & metal 'TV tray' which is used as a desk. Didn't do their recommended stippling. Opted to brush and roll (foam). Also lightly distressed my furniture pieces, did some antique glazing, dry brushing, etc. I've also used it on picture frames, and window surrounds and closet (the BP off-white is perfect match to my apt wall color). Very versatile and a little goes a long way. Their colors can be mixed to create the desired look (which I did). For those of us who can't tolerate strong fumes, found that BP had just a slight odor which quickly dissipated. Had tiny bit of bleed through on the dresser. For lack of any other products, clear nail polish was an easy fix. The BP has held up very well and appreciated that I was able to paint everything within confines of small apt.

Oh My God! That came out so great! I can't wait to try that paint. I live in Florida, and I don't have room in my house to paint so it has to be the garage. Right now it's way too hot and humid, so all my furniture projects are on hold. I can't believe how that paint covered. You did such an awesome job! I LOVE those handles!!! And I think you picked the perfect color, too! I love watching you do all your stuff! I can't wait for more videos! Thank you SO much! xo

I really like the Beyond; a little pricey it on laminate pieces, it works great. I wish they would come out with more colors. Haven’t tried spraying it but have seen other videos of that technique and they said it worked like a charm. Maybe experiment on a small item and let us know? Pretty finished product.

This paint can be diluted a bit and SPRAYED as well. Then you get that beautiful finish. I have used it for many projects and it is an amazing product.
@salvagedbykscott4 ай бұрын
It can be but they do mention that it’s not ideal as it will dilute the bonding and sealing components and interfere with the performance of the paint.

Your tables look great! I'm currently refinishing 2 end tables with their Pewter color. The only thing you didn't mention in this video that I thought was worth mentioning is the smell. You definitely don't want to paint with this stuff in your house. I always have to open both doors in my garage when I'm using this stuff to keep the air flowing.

I didn’t find it had much of an odour at all. A tiny bit like vinegar but not in a bad way. It’s also low VOC so it’s safe to use indoors.

Nice! I've used beyond paint may times on furniture and I even painted my kitchen cabinets with it. To get a smoother, less textured finish, I use a foam roller. I always use the top coat or simply polyurethane to protect the finish. It's pretty durable once it is cured.

Nice to see a makeover with low profile tools. thank you for that. just a quick tip that laminate / or plastic laminate is a product that is manufactured by many companies including formica. (nevamar, abet laminati, wilsonart are others). lucky for formica that it's name caught on by the public for free advertising :)!!

Very informative video as usual. That squeeze wood filler sounds good, will look for it...the brands I have tried shrunk and needed 2 application even if overfilled, and it dried out in the tube surprisingly. Kinda cool that you didn't even have to prime over the filled area with this paint product. However, I don't think I would use this paint for reselling, the finish just doesn't seem smooth enough. BTW, love that rug in your staging clip!
@briplusnate3 ай бұрын
Christina Muscari sprayed beyond paint on her channel. It turned out extremely nice and she had no issues with it. Maybe you should try that to achieve a better finish. I prefer the spray texture to over roll/brush too.
@salvagedbykscott3 ай бұрын
Unfortunately spraying isn’t really a beginner friendly option to demonstrate in a beginner friendly tutorial. Beyond Paint specifically advises against thinning their product which means it won’t spray “as-is” and since this was my first time trying it, I wanted to see how it did using their recommended application techniques.

Looks MUCH better than I would have expected from what sounded like an "over-promised" product! I've used "all in one" paint before that under-performed and left me with a disappointing finish (possibly due to my inexperience). This, however, seems to be the real thing (she says, hopefully). Question: As the colors are limited, have you tried painting over the final coat (after it hardens) with a different product? Do you think Beyond Paint would accept a spray- or brush-on paint in matte, eggshell or possibly semi-gloss? How does it react to wax? Is it possible to get a semi-gloss finish using this product? Beyond Paint could be the answer to my prayers -- please keep us up to date on your experiences with it so my family doesn't have to find me covered in paint and sobbing helplessly in a corner of the workroom (it's happened, and the cats were traumatized).

This is great for beginners. I have a question. You talk about removing furniture polish. Should we not use furniture polish? If not what would you recommend? I knew an older lady that only cleaned her furniture with a damp cloth. Is this good or bad? I guess I had several questions. I absolutely enjoy watching how you beautify old sometimes ugly furniture.
@salvagedbykscott4 ай бұрын
A microfibre cloth is all you need to wipe off furniture surfaces. Most furniture polishes build up a layer of silicone that ends up attracting dust but it really messes with new finishes being able to adhere or absorb evenly.
