Beginner GUIDE for Elemental Shaman in M+ - Rotation, Stat priority, Talents & MORE!!

Hey there! Great guide. I've been playing elemental shaman for years as well (Bananashama-Mal'ganis) and I was around 3500 io in bfa (took a break in shadowlands) and currently pushing 2800 io in Dragonflight. I will say the spec has been frustrating me in terms of our talents not being set up for us to have a good mixture of single target and sustained aoe damage. It usually always feels like we are forced into picking one or the other which does not always feel good. We are most lacking in single target damage and I have found that on the wildfire build, which in my opinion is the best build for M+, it is better to spec into elemental blast (take a point out of searing flames) to replace earth shock. I've discovered it does give us a little boost in ST scenarios and hits like a truck. Earth shock just feels so bad as a maelstrom spender right now.

Hey there! Thank you! Welcome back and hope you're enjoying it! GREAT feedback too. I was rocking Ele blast and I think it definitely added to our single target kit for sure. From sharing this build with some friends (When I was rocking ele blast), they had a hard time throwing it into their rotation at an optimal time and thought it was more "stressful". I don't think it adds a lot of difficulty by any means but I do think having earth shock makes it slightly more simple. 100% though, awesome comment!!

stormkeeper is the first button you press on every pull for aoe. The buff is up for over 10 seconds so you can still get them both off before the buff wears off. with this build for single target you want to build maelstrom so you will have enough to do the following rotation so you gain the max out of the build: build maelstrom to 90+, (make sure you have a lava burst available), stormkeeper, lava burst, spend maelstrom, lightning bolt (for the big stormkeeper dmg), lava burst, spend maelstrom, lightning bolt (for the big stormkeeper dmg). if you do it any other way you are losing out on 1/3-1/2 your stormkeeper damage due to buffs and procs from your spec.

Quick question, is it worth it to to use lightning bolt right after lava burst, back and forth ? Since we usually spec Master of the Element. Or just pumping lava burst.

Are you finding yourself hard-casting lava burst, or are you primarily just waiting for it to proc before using on single target and rinsing lightning bolt over and over?

Round about how much k dps should u be pulling on single target boss fights? Cause i have prolly exactly the same build i think more or less. With pretty much the same rotation also i believe, with an ilv of 400. And i was pulling 30k +/- dps on ras on normal mode and got kicked cuz my dps was to low. Do have to mention though, i didnt particularly look for haste on my gear, i just tried going for as high ilv as poss since it has more int. And i dont have enchants yet

why do my shamman point side look different. I don't have or even see a path to earth shield unless I take the top left chain heal! There is no middle path... am I missing something?

M+ Fire build need optimal 20-25% haste and crit=vers on high keys :D Mastery on WILDFIRE build si Usless :D :D Have good day :D

I got a question about MotE, er.g. with Stormkeeper, you say just shoot 2 Lightning Bolts, but don't you want to buff them with Lava Burts? Also, with your AoE, after using chain lightning, do you EQ, and then chain lightning again (The 2x Stormkeepers). Also here, do you buff these with MotE, or you don't bother? How much focus do you put of MotE ?

Most accurate thing is that you are a leader in your group, BECAUSE NOBODY WILL EVER INVITE YOU IF YOU ARE ELEM SHAMAN. just play enchancement and have fun.

It’s more that the lightning m+ build isn’t really viable in m+ cause of pack sizes and kiting which ironically has are best single target.

God, I hate Wildfire. When your cooldowns are down, and they will be often, you're mediocre AOE and garbage ST. Plus you need a separate set of gear from your raid setup.

@@Hosheezy I run a variation of the single target raid build with Mountains Will Fall. It keeps me sane since I can use the same set for raids and M+. When they uncap valor I'll make another set and try Wildfire again. When you pug a lot you find that every tank has their own rhythm when it comes to pulling, and sometimes it just completely doesn't sync with your cooldowns. It feels terrible when you get into a surprise 5 pull without your magma totem.
