I genuinely felt intimidated when watching videos on digitizing, to the point where I did not want to consider doing embroidery anymore, I kept searching and searching and I just want to thank you so much for this tutorial, I almost feel silly for wanting to give up, this software seems very user friendly and easy. Thank you so much for this video and your time! You definitely changed my perspectives!

Hello. Brand new to Hatch. After stumbling along unsuccessfully most of the day I found you ! Yeah! But following you got to the locate artwork manual file and kept getting no files in the folder and a blank page. Noticed that your setting were same as mine but nothing in that , or any artwork folder. Only when I changed the ‘showing’ to ALL ARTWORK FILES did the pictures finally show up. How is it that yours show when the ‘showing ‘ is set to the first option ‘all in one design files...? I’m really interested in giving this program a real chance but so far I am more frustrated than happy. Already appreciate you. Hope to find videos in some sort of order that helps learn from step to step. Thank you. Can you explain why mine do not show like yours?

I’m fairly familiar with a program called Inkscape, which seems a lot like Hatch in some ways. Can’t you add nodes after you’ve made a path if it needs a little extra shaping? This is possible in Inkscape and makes it easy to really refine your paths.

I think many features have changed in Hatch since recording. I just downloaded today and so much looks different in the video. UPDATE: I figured some of it out, I think the OML settings are already established and I had to learn and adjust. Example, finding the correct pane to lock the image in place...lol. The Outlines and Offsets are now in the Create Layouts section of the toolbar and not the Edit Objects.

When I digitize my images they look great on my computer. When I transfer them to my drive and open them for preview on my se600, i get these random lines in the preview sometimes. However when i get to actual embroidering the image, these lines dont appear on the actual work and it comes out fine. Any idea why this happens? I confirmed in using correct files and everything. Thank you!

Hi Sue. Thankyou so much for this video. I made a circle on Hatch and when I embroidered it on SE 400 machine it turned into an oval. Please help
@OMLembroidery6 жыл бұрын
the reason for this is pulll compensation - the amount that the thread pulls the fabric when you are stitching. In every design, you have to account for pull compensation. If you create more of an oval in hatch, you will stitch out a circle. try it :)
@26coolami6 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much for replying. I keep my settings as :- Spacing- 0.40mm Length- 4.00 mm Is this ok??
@OMLembroidery6 жыл бұрын
you should probably leave the settings at default. It's more about the shape you design than the settings. there is going to be pull compensation on everything you stitch! It's one of the "rules" of embroidery.

Thankyou again.

What's the difference between hatch and wilcom? I know hatch is made by them but what is the major difference between those 2? :)
@OMLembroidery5 жыл бұрын
Wilcom is the commercial level of the software and is way more expensive. Hatch 2 is just as powerful, but has less options. both are fantastic.

Typefaces, not fonts. The style of lettering is "typeface". Font refers to bold, italic, strikethrough, etc...
@OMLembroidery5 жыл бұрын
Thanks, but in embroidery, they are called FONTs...built in fonts as opposed to alphabets. I call it the same as the creators do in the software, and they all have "built in fonts"
@cassielavallee3895 жыл бұрын
@@OMLembroidery Even if it is "industry-wide", it is till INCORRECT. The correct term is typeface. Microsoft changed it to "font" to make buyers believe they were getting more for their money by listing seven typefaces as twenty-eight fonts because it was seven typefaces with three fonts added to each typeface. "Industry-wide" does not mean right.
@OMLembroidery5 жыл бұрын
Sooo....Ok, does it really matter? I will still say FONT because that is what people understand. I am not sure what you have against the word Font, but it really has nothing to do with the video or anything else on my channel. Font is industry wide in embroidery, and I am gonna go with the flow on this one. You can say typface if you want, but I don't think you need to tell me what to say :) Thanks for your opinion though, always appreciated Cassie.
@OMLembroidery5 жыл бұрын
and don't take any of my opinion the wrong way...it just doesn't really matter at all. graphics people say typeface. Embroidery people say FONT. I am an embroidery person. This is my opinion....
