Thank you! I have rheumatoid arthritis in my hips this is the first hip mobility routine I have found that allows me to get into a position to actually work on my hip flexors. Thank you!

Great video the doctor gave me these exercises in paper which is hard to realize how to properly do it also I think it is great the chair version of them. Thanks so much for this video

Thank you for these modifications! I work specifically with the older population in an exercise capacity. Hip stiffness and limited ROM is rampant across this age group. These hip stretching modifications are exactly what they need since few are able/willing to get down on the floor. Thanks again for sharing your expertise!

Thanks for sharing this with your clients :) The seated versions are just as effective.

Thank you so much for this modified routine. I have recently had both my hips replaced. Consequently I have lost some movement and they are very stiff. I am obviously a little afraid if dislocation and have been searching for a suitable stretching routine. These stretches are gentle enough and my range of movement has already improved after following your program for one week. Thank you so much.

Thank you so much for this, especially the modified pigeon. My hips are sooooo tight and I’m super happy that there is now a way I can do this stretch and actually have my leg at 90 degs!

Thank you, looking forward to trying these, I know I have super tight hips and especially feel it when doing the figure 4, one leg I can do with relative ease, the other one is an absolute struggle.

Most people are uneven like that. Just keep working at it. Over a couple of weeks, you will definitely feel a difference.

Thank you so much for posting the modifications! I got here from your first video and was like "I'm defo nowhere near a few of these... Oh look, I can do these!" For others with crazy tight hammies, I also learned in PT my hammies and adductors were compensating for inactive gluts and completely locking up (and locking up my hips!) - may be worth checking out if you, too, find yourself at rock bottom.

Sure thing. The most important thing is to just do what you can with what you have, right where you’re at now. Give it time and consistent effort, and you’ll have more options.

The website design that appears from 5:40 onwards looks different from actual GMB website, much nicer in my opinion. ¿Are you planning on updating the existing programs' layout, or will it be some new program?

Should I warm up before doing this hip mobility routine? If so, how much time?
@gmbfit4 жыл бұрын
That should't be necessary, but if you're doing a workout and warning up anyway, you could insert this after the warmup.

I have like zero lateral hip mobility; the slightest inclination (external or internal) of my legs is excruciating painful for my hips & lower back. I can walk & use the stairs fine, but every other functional movement is way too wobbly or unresponsive (cerebellar ataxia?). All this to say that even these "beginner" stretching variants are too hard for my condition. Sorry for being that pessimistic, but that's the situation I'm in unfortunately.
@gmbfit Жыл бұрын
Sounds like you need actual medical help in person rather than youtube. Expecting to fix instability and excruciating pain by following along with some internet videos is not a recipe for success. Find a local physical therapist.

I thought you weren't supposed to 'bounce' when stretching? A lot of these exercises seem to involve moving in and out of the stretch before holding, isn't that the same as bouncing?
@gmbfit4 жыл бұрын
You're thinking of ballistic stretching, which entails pushing forcefully against the tissues. What we're doing is moving in and out of the end range under control. Very different things. Ballistics also have a time and place, but they're not a good choice for most people. Moving is fine. Moving is almost always better than not moving.
