For anyone else just starting out like me - At 7:40 you can also copy/paste key frames to different points on the timeline preserve the exact same camera angle - I found this a quicker way to get the timing right for the juicy sweeps between angles 👍 (edited for spelling)

Buggering around up loading footage to your phone from your camera which hardly has any storage space even on a ipad but to transfer your footage by loading your sd card up in a reader is what a lot of people are going to have to do as the insta phone app is crap. Just want to film transfer edit and play simple. Great video.

Ive never used the desktop editor until today, and i have no idea how to edit videos. Excellent tutorial ! videoproc looks indeed much easier than premiere. In fact I was looking how you can zoom in on Insta360 studio. You showed it can be done, but you probably use the mousewheel. On a laptop you don't have one. I looked for shortkeys on the forum, but couldn't find any. I posted the question, hopefully I get a quick answer.

@@charleyelefante & @manuquick - I'm able to zoom in and out by dragging 2 fingers vertically up and down on the track pad - I think if you go into your trackpad settings for your laptop and look for 'gesture controls' you should be able to select your preferred zoom settings which should transfer to 360 studio

This is a great, easy lesson on studio 360 work flow. Insta 360 is a great and novel product, but because it is such a departure from traditional point of view shooting cameras, it's not surprising the workflow is not intuitive. I must admit to be totally confused by the idea of exporting a list of short clips so they can be edited in a traditional video editor (Final Cut, Premier Pro.....or something affordable 🙂). Brilliant

Great tutorial - you mentioned that you put your content from the camera SD card onto a memory card reader & drag & drop & then to 360 Studio app - is this quicker than attaching the RS camera direct to the laptop & importing ? I have just purchased a 360 RS & it seems to take forever to load them up - maybe I am just too excited at what I can now do that I am being impatient !!!!

Here’s my question. Can I use the 1x2 for different angles in one mounted area or do I have to use it as a 360 only. To clarify, can i do like a North, south, east, west 16x9 angle in one shot and choose between them? Im not into 360 video - it’s an extra step and tbh, I just don’t enjoy watching 360 videos.

Yes you can, you'll just need to set one angle (north) then export, then set the next angle (south) and export and so on

Hi I am unable to stich. On the RHS of my screen I only have 3 icons whilst you have 6. I dont appear to have the stitching icon. Any suggestions? I have downloaded Insta 360 studio 2023 v 4.8.0 so it is the latest. I am running a Pentium G4500 PC, 3.5 GHZ, with 8.0 GB of RAM and Windows 10 home edition. Any insights would be much appreciated. I got this camera for an upcoming trip and I am trying to learn enough so I know how to shoot the best footage that will give me the most flexibility in post. Your video and delivery are excellent and the way you demonstrate what you are talking about really got through to me. I've watched a dozen tutorials and when I was done with them I still felt like I wasn't ready to edit but now, after watching your video, I just made and exported my first video and it came out great. Yeh, I’ve come to that conclusion too. It’s not a problem if you understand that’s the limitation of the software, but don’t want to be missing a trick I wouldn’t like to use it as my main camera, but it’s good for auxiliary shots to keep an edit interesting.

So I cannot export the files from my insta360 x2 directly to the 360studios desktop via USB cord? I first need to export the files to my PC before launching the 360studios on my desktop?

Hmm. I recorded one clip and it's not an MP4, but a .insv file. This is with the camera at default settings, whatever they are. The video export dialog looks different, more limiting ... and I never found a way to zoom in or out of the image.

Very weird. The export function created three mp4 files, none of which were the section of the clip I edited and intended to save. The recording is on the card, and the Studio app does not "import" a damn thing, not even as referenced files. In the Insta folder I see what looks like the metadata, but the app interface gives no indication it had ever worked on a project.

Gave it another go with the same original camera footage. This time it did not weirdly export 3 mp4 files I didn't want, however once you quit the app it remembers nothing next time. No record that it had ever been used before. Don't quit the app thinking you can come back and work on a project later!

After I have brought the HDR 360 images into studio and I goto export to my computer each image (could be 20) end up being saved in 20 separate folders - pain in the ass..... I found this video very well done it covered all of the points that I needed covered the only other comment I'd like to pass on is perhaps speak a little slower sounds like you're trying to make a deadline so consider that please. I'm a professional photographer concentrating on real estate and architecture. I have an insta360 one RS 1 in and the sphere.

Thank you for stating that you have to import the files on to the computer for them to stay in the studio app. I just got my camera about 2 weeks ago and everytime i plug it into the computer via usb, and drag and drop the files into the studio desktop app, once i unplug the usb for the camera, the files are gone. I asked their support about this and they kept telling me the app was corrupted. I finally did what you said a few days ago and saved it on my hard drive and now I dont have any issues.

You have both premiere and video proc... would you consider using video proc for quick and simple stuff and leave premiere for the more cinematic stuff for more control ?
