2 common issues 1. Fan is rotating the wrong way, put the water on the opposite side of the water wheel to change direction 2. All filters in the toolbox are not set to iron nuggets or flint. Use the wrench on the funnel to prevent gravel from entering and get the nuggets/flint from the water to set the toolbox slots. Then hit the funnel again to let items enter the toolbox again.

Please upvote this so more can see, I found the problem with why the gravel is not washing into iron/flint 1 - Firstly make sure your fan at the bottom is pushing towards the chest and not sucking in by removing the water and seeing which way you go. If you need to switch it, just put the water on the other side of the waterwheel 2 - Temporarily put a block in the way infront of the Funnel near the toolbox, this will let the current gravel have time to turn into iron nuggets/flint. Once you have some, put 4 of each inside your toolbox so it will only accept iron nuggets/flint. So now you can remove the temporary block, when gravel comes up to the funnel near the toolbox it will not be put in until it has been washed Its also worth noting that 1 gravel has a 25% chance to turn into flint or iron nugget, so lots of the gravel will just disappear

You can decrease the footprint of the gears from the waterwheel by placing them in order, but then right clicking with andesite casings on them as you go forward. This keeps it all in one neat segment.

Me and my friends have a modpack that utilizes create, tinker, and immersive engineering. All mods that have uses for iron and a lot of them. We are a few weeks into this journey and are still having issues with iron. This will be a better way to get iron without destroying the terrain and allow us to explore more while we have a reliable source of iron. Like: origins mod and no reliable food source.

Hi, it seems that in certain versions of create the andesite funnel going into the toolbox blocks the gravel from being washed. It worked perfectly fine before but I had to update my create version to allow for certain other create addons to work and thats when i experienced this issue Edit: I seem to have solved the issue by adding a brass funnel with a list filter set to deny gravel. I also added a mechanical belt on the path the fan blows but i dont think you should realistically need it, mentioning it just in case Edit again: You shouldn't need the brass funnel actually just place a mechanical belt under the andesite funnel and continue to use the toolbox as a filter

Hu, great tuto, very well explained, one problem for me, the gravel is never waashed, so i don't get any nuggets or flint Edit : I have solved problem by extending the wtaer path for gravel to be washed by one block. i am now producing iron nuggets and flints

Mine is having issues where rather than the chute taking the cobble it gets launched all over Edit I messed around and found that if my machine is going too fast stone can be generated instantly after breaking the previous stone, causing the broken entity to be launched out of the machine rather than pulled into the chute.

Okay, Hopefully this can help someone. ***HOW TO FIX IF IT ISN'T WORKING FOR YOU*** If your problem is: The gravel is being turned into Flint / Iron Nuggets, but is not being collected by the Andesite Funnel / Brown Toolbox, and they are both properly setup (direction of the Funnel is feeding into the toolbox & the toolbox is filtered correctly to only take in Flint / Iron Nuggets). The Fix(Its Really not difficult, just read everything first to understand then you can really do anything to fix it): Pick up the water in front of the fan with a bucket, Pick up the Andesite Funnel using your Wrench and pick up the Brown Toolbox by punching it. Then dig 2 blocks down where the last set of Copycat Panels are and place the Brown Toolbox, then place the Andesite Funnel on top of the Brown Toolbox, make sure to filter the funnel Downwards into the toolbox. Then place the water back in front of the fan. You'll need a random block to stop the water from flowing past the Copycat Panels, I used a dirt block. Now place another Encased Fan above the Andesite Funnel, I placed mine THREE blocks above. The fan should be facing downwards, now set up power to this Encased Fan, I used 6 Cogwheels starting 1 above the Encased Fan going sideways, then 2 Shafts downwards, 2 Encased Chain Drives side-by-side (use the wrench to line them up with the shaft and one pointing out sideways), one last shaft, and a Water Wheel with water placed like the water for the large water wheel in the video. This should power the water wheel, which turns the shaft, turning the encased chain drives, turning the shafts, turning the cogs, to power the fan, blowing downwards. This pushes the Flint / Iron Ingots down into the Funnel.

The first fan is pointed the correct way, I copied everything you did in the video 1:1, even things you didn't vocalize. Probably spent a good 6 hours on this 10 min video, but that's because I was also pausing to go farm material for each piece as I was going lol.

When i'm playing with Create i always put the Drawers mod too, so i can do the same things that u achieve with the toolbox that force some specific items only to pass though. In that case i put a 1x2 drawer with flint and iron nuggets in it. Later i swap the regular drawer with a compacting one so it transform iron automaticaly and a chute below to filter the flint for an andesite farm for example

I had everything to make a farm but i did not have means of sorting the flint and iron to avoid the funnel picking up the gravel instead of the processed material. You need to set the slots of the toolbox to iron nuggets and flint. To let the gravel wash you can use the wrench on the andesite funnel which is connected to the toolbox to temporarily block gravel from going into the toolbox

A bit late, but a VERY important step in any iron farm is that the millstone should always run at DOUBLE the RPM as the rest of the build. The cobble generator drills the stone faster than the mill can crush it into gravel, so if the millstone isn't running at double RPM, you end up with a backup that spews cobble everywhere and causes lag if left unchecked. Doubling the RPM on the millstone is thankfully super easy. Just use a gear ratio (Big cog + small cog connected to the mill). Hope this helps!

@@matthewritter971 you can temporarily flip the arrow on the funnel on the toolbox so the gravel can sit in the water for 30 seconds or so. After that you can take the flint and iron nugget and use those to set the slots of the toolbox to only those two items and then the toolbox should no longer accept gravel

Use a wrench and right click on the andesite funnel to stop items from going into the tool box and then wait until the gravel is washed to iron nuggets and flint. After you get iron nuggets and flint you can open the toolbox and change all the slots to iron nuggets and flint. Now you can right click the funnel again with a wrench to change the direction and no more gravel should go into the toolbox as it has to get washed first.

Try changing the rotation of the input in the opposite direction so that the fan is blowing air. You can do this fairly easily with a gearbox

@@_PandaCraft. right click the funnel to change the direction temporarily, wait for nuggets and flint to be made then you can reverse the direction again. Take the flint and nuggets and make sure every tool box slot is set to one or the other. Another possibility is that your funnel is too far away from your fan or that your fan is spinning in the wrong direction. Really so simple? I tried to do in a Skyblock and is a really mess 3 Drills 3 Millstones and 4 fans... In 1 hour only 64 nuggets because the mills were so slow. I'll try yours

This is to teach you the basic concept. Increasing the speed to 256 would increase output and then you just add more drills and millstones. Crushing wheels can replace millstones later and there are more efficient ways to generate cobble too.
