try finding a small slope or hill to tackle your tricks on! nothing too steep. but enough to get you rolling away from your trick (even if it’s slow or just a little bit). hopefully over time you’ll get a better feel for rolling away and can slowly get your trick faster and more flowy. hope this helps!

I'm a beginner longboarder, goofy stance, use a Z-flex longboard with a pin tail and pin nose. Spent around 10 minutes on each trick earlier today. Need more help though: @ pivots: how do I make the board go full 180, it keeps stopping after 90 degrees! What helped me was punching my winding arm in the direction my board was going. So in your vid your arms rotates first, then feet kicks. And do I need to lift the front part of the board ie front wheels slightly up in the air or leave the wheels flat on the ground? @ cross step: Yes! I did this one! Key for me was not to rush the steps (you look fast when you're doing the steps), count 1,2,3, 4 in my head, and give enough space at the front of the deck for my back foot to land, and leave the feet "hanging"/set down on the deck for a slight second to prevent the shaky feeling. I made one pedestrian look very worried when I was doing this haha @ ghost ride: I also did this one! Thanks! I agree, my front foot should give a slight push forward otherwise the board will suddenly stop. I sometimes forget to move my front foot back a bit before doing the second wrap around step. @ ghost ride kickflip: for me this feels like tossing a coin up in the air. Sometimes it lands on the correct side, sometimes it doesn't. Any extra tips to increase the chances of it landing on the right side up (griptape to the sky)? @ nollie bs shuv it: My board keeps stopping at 90 degrees, same issue as my pivots (see above). How do I make my board go all the way to 180 degrees? Do I need to rotate arms fully first before shoving the deck with my feet? Do I need to loosen my trucks a bit more? Am I using the wrong brand of board? Thanks for uploading this! Haven't sweat this much in 2 years since COVID made us stay home.

@nataliepluto3 жыл бұрын
thank you! I'm glad you found the video helpful :) it's normal to be afraid when it comes to bailing / falling on a trick. just remember to break your tricks down into separate steps and take things slow until you feel comfortable committing. this sounds silly but i would throw myself at the ground to practice rolling away safely from tricks. i'd love to talk in a future video more about safely avoiding injuries. it's been highly requested!

@nataliepluto3 жыл бұрын
the tricks are labeled correctly :) it's kind of counter intuitive. a frontside turn is rotating towards your heels, while backside is more towards your toes. hope this helps!
@davidgrischuk54543 жыл бұрын
@@nataliepluto well, I've scrolled around the internet and it seems that frontside and backside is based on the direction of travel not only the rotation of the board. Braille and many others will attest. There also seems to be an exception for fakie and no exception for nollie. Altogether fairly confusing to simply read.

Do you have any tips on how to transition from pushing mongo to regular?
@nataliepluto3 жыл бұрын
i've never pushed mongo before but i feel like the big decision for you would be deciding on either keeping your same stance and learning to push with your opposite foot, or push with your same foot and learn to ride in your opposite stance. go with what you feel will be more comfortable for you! you'll have to relearn how to ride and it may feel awkward at first, but you'll have the advantage of being able to ride switch at the end of the day :)
