For me, I came from tennis and played a lot of doubles, but in pickleball there are a lot of the shots that need touch and finesse. So I took a beginners lesson, and watched a lot of KZbin instructional videos, and experimented with them in rec play. Sad to say that there are some people that don't like playing with beginners, but that happens in all sports. I also knew of a tennis wall, and practised hitting dinks, and practised serves. The best part is when you see a person hitting a certain shot, ask them how they do it, and most people will gladly share what they know.

@@playpickleball-com Your welcome. I also feel that finding a paddle that suited my style of game. Since i came from tennis, i feel that i can create all the controllable power that I need, but I needed a paddle that can help me with the soft game. Also if you can join a local pickleball club, it will help you game out a lot. There you could a lot of play people your own level. Our club also has weekly skills and drill session to work on your game, and it is alway full. We also have open rec sessions, and what i like the most is dupr sessions, where you can always get good games in, in your own dupr level.
