The painter's tape method is how I cut minky too. I buy the wider size (2") at Harbor Freight. It's cheap and effective. :) I haven't done self binding though.

The tape was awesome! I only had 1 inch from the garage, but Ill grab some 2 inch if I do it again :)

@@pickinstitches Hello, My husband passed away 2 1/2 years ago and I’m taking his clothes and making three quilts, but they’re gonna be the size of a throw quilt, not a full size bed quilt, I don’t know if I could tackle a full size one. Do you have a webpage that if I need a question answered? I’m thinking I’ll be OK but just in case, because I don’t know anyone that makes quilts. I have done a lot sewing. My mother was a seamstress. I was raised and learned how to sew on an old singer Sewing Machine and no store-bought patterns. I measure cut and sewed it together. lol Thank You 🥰🐾

I love this video and your unboxing videos. My first quilt was a Snowball quilt with a Minky background. I also finish it with self-binding Minky. I definitely jumped in the deep end of the quilting pool with my first quilt. The quilt turned out perfect. I am glad I tried the flip forward binding at the suggestion of my longarmer. My quilt turned out so pretty with the Minky binding. I love your quilt, too! The kids are going to love it.

Great video. I have used a blanket from Amazon but did the tie method. I’m going to try your method gif backing and fold over binding. Thank you for sharing with us. ♥️
