I've just started machine quilting, and I bought some very nice rulers. So far my biggest problem seems to be keeping the ruler with the fabric while moving the fabric and sewing around it. I feel like I need another set of hands, between holding and moving the fabric and holding and NOT moving the ruler. Do you have any suggestions?

More practice! Quilt 2-3 quilts only with rulers and you will get the hang of it. It's a combination of movement, speed, pressure, and coordination.
