Great information. Gauge is important, and making sure to keep positive on stereo to positive on speaker. After that, what you use is personal preferences and budget, as you stated.

Agree 100%! Not everyone needs 10 gauge speaker wires and there’s some instances where more than 18 gauge is recommended. As long as people do a little research on length, speaker impedance and gauge, they can make the right choice the first time. Thanks for the input!

I used KnuKonceptz Kord Kable from Amazon ,10 gauge, put a sleeve over it and terminated it with Viborg banana plugs. I think it has a bit better clarity than the very old 14 gauge speaker cables. It’s pure copper and great reviews! Thanks for the new content! I love see older used equipment reviews. I bought some Monitor Audio silver speakers based on your review. They sound great!thanks for the tip!

Thank you for the recommendation! I’ve actually never heard of KnuKonceptz before so I’m off to do some research. I’m definitely planning on buying some more used equipment, especially speakers and subs. Just need more time and money to run out and grab them as they pop up. Monitor Audio is an excellent value, especially used. I’m happy to hear I steered you in the right direction:)

I actually think 12 gauge is the sweet spot for most home theater enthusiasts. Going to 10 gauge is likely overkill for most. I always appreciate you taking the time to comment!

I agree for home theater 12 is more than enough. I use the 10 ga on 2 channel set up with KEF 104 that I recently refurbished. Using a vintage Yamaha m 65. The cable is super flexible and Each conductor is composed of 462 strands of the finest copper for superb audio accuracy and flexibility!

Then I sleeved it with Keco 100ft - 1/2 inch PET Expandable Braided Cable Sleeve - Wire Sleeving for Audio Video - Black and sealed it with heat shrink tubing.

LOL lamp cords funny 😂😂. I myself prefer twist ties. But honestly I just use basic cable Amazon basics 14 gauge. Works great.

Like usual, thank you Nana! I’m not breathing the internet with any of this info but it sure would have helped me 20 years ago, when getting into this great hobby. Thank you again Nana!

Hey, I just found your channel and I like your content! I saw that you have a lexicon av 6. I have the chance to get a Av-9 for 600€. Do you think it is still a good deal? Or is a more modern receiver like an nad a better choice? Do you think it is a problem for movies and music that it only has arc and not earc? Hope you can keep it up!

I’m commenting before I watch this and hopefully you have the same opinion. Stick with 100% copper. Don’t spend a lot of money. The audible difference is in the upper ranges where most adults can no longer hear anyways. The actual tested difference between Blue Jean and Kimbre Cable is less than .5db so you’re just buying jewelry. If you’re worried about how it looks then add the mesh to your own. Definitely use in wall speaker cable behind walls.

I had set up my Klipsch 5.1.4 Atmos system with a Denon AVR-X4700H. It has been a long time since I've hooked up any speakers, so I put all the speaker wires running together on the same wall and I got just horrendous feedback, so I am wondering should I separate the wires or buy better insulated speaker wires so I can still run them together to the receiver. What should I do? I would really like to keep them together for neatness.
