I have a couple of years working on my genealogy, I'm from northern Mexico and discovered I have several Jewish ancestors, Spanish and Portuguese. I heard in the video that the process for the Portuguese citizenship is very restricted now, and I know that the Spanish one ended in 2019, but I would like to know more about your experience applying. Did you need to proof direct line descendance? Cause mine is not direct, it's more of a lateral thing but my ancestors were from prominent families like Ha-Levi, de la Cavallería, Benveniste, etc.

Hi yes you can still apply for Spanish citizenship for the 1924 law.

I kind of just added a bunch of names from another family tree and I did that because I was able to pinpoint matches on ancestry on my family tree through Thrulines. When I found the family tree on family search that matched with an ancestor of mine from the 1700s I kept going down the line and saw my direct ancestor's full name plus a few of the ancestors of my matches. I thought it was too much similarity to be a coincidence. But now I see that I added on to the family tree that was already built and if I am wrong or they are wrong I will probably mislead future users. I'm gonna try and fix it. But I still do think it's too much to be a coincidence since dna doesn't lie
