Beginner's Guide to Omaha PLO

Hi guys, Dominic here! This is your beginner’s guide to understanding Pot Limit Omaha, otherwise known as Omaha PLO.
Pot Limit Omaha is a variation on the game Texas Hold’em. This variation is becoming increasingly popular as it provides an interesting way to play the game.
PLO, Pot Limit Omaha, means that a player cannot bet more than the value of the pot at that time, including their call. It differs greatly from no-limit Hold’em, in which players can bet any amount they want up to the size of their stack.
The biggest differences between Hold’em and Omaha are that:
In Omaha, the player is given 4 hole cards (meaning not community cards), unlike just two in Hold’em.
In Omaha, when you build your hand, you will use 2 hole cards and 3 community cards.
There are similarities as well. Just like Texas Hold’em, there are three positions that you need to be aware of, as it will determine your betting strategy. The games are similar as far as the betting action is concerned. The four betting streets include preflop, flop, turn, and river. Hand rankings are identical in the two games, as well. A Royal Flush is always the best possible hand.

Thanks for the basics tutorial. Very helpful. You did miss the calls for player 4 and 5 but you’ve acknowledged that. Also I don’t think the max bet formula is exactly correct. I’ve been playing a lot of Omaha high low in a recreational game so I will look for that video now on your channel.

7:30 How can you teach Plo to players, with out knowing how to race pot? The player can race to $55 9:45 you did not make player 4 call,, the pot shuld be $140 not $100 14:30 you did say that player 1 did have 0% change of geting flush. And 0% of hiting straight. But he had 5 6, 7 (not 7 of clubs) wuld give him the best possible hand!! 15:30 you still got the potbet wrong! Saying he culd race $100 more to bringbthe pot to &400! But he culd have raced $400 making the total pot $600 and then player 5 need to call $300 more to see the River

Love the way you broke it down through demonstration. One thing I'm confused about though (starting at 9:43): Wouldn't first to act after the flop (and every round thereafter) be the small blind position / first live player left of the dealer button? I've never seen it played where action skips the blinds after the flop.

They had a possible flush and a possible straight but when faced with a 100$ bet I decided in this "hypothetical" situation that the small bling was playing conservatively and didn't feel good about their odds. Good thing too because they wouldn't have made their hand.

All I said was after the flop Qs was the high hand. I literally said before that Qs was a hand that could easily get busted. Not sure what I said that was wrong
