Out of curiosity you ever considered a two handed rod not Spey overhead. Love the videos I’m sure it’s a ton of work but it’s amazing
@SergioDiazFishing3 ай бұрын
I have tried both switch and spey rods, but for what I do a 9ft fly rod seems to be good enough, but I will try them again this fall when casting from the rocks, and it sounds like it could be a pretty cool video. Thanks!

I notice that using a heavier action fly rod i dont snap the fly at all. If the rod flexes i snap the fly so much. I use a 10 weight for fish from bull reds, all the way down to speckled trout. Im definitely some unit.

Hey man I was just wondering if you needed backing for saltwater fly fishing
@SergioDiazFishing6 ай бұрын
Yes, you do. Fly lines are about 90 to 100 feet long, a good size fish like a striped bass, bluefish or false albacore can easily take more than that in a run. Backing extends your line and lets you play the fish. In most saltwater reels you can put 200+ yds of 20 - 30lb backing which for most situations is plenty. Good luck!

You gave a good video but i would never ever buy those outfits you show when there are outfits being sold by well known makers and that's what i did saving myself $500. on a super outfit. So yea show us the alternatives out there.

From my conversations, this is about 70% why most anglers will never bother to pick up fly fishing. In the mind, the prospective fly angler angler has to contemplate a couple of mortgage payments, when it is not so.
