Hi, sweden here!!! I bought a jukimo-104 several month ago. I never used it cause I didnt know the different stiches, I didnt know anything at all. My serger had a chain stich and the overcasting threads.. I saw that others seems look different. But thank to you I now learned all I need to use my serger. Now my grandchildren will get their dresses. I didnt find any such tutiorals in Sweden.. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Another great installment in this series. I definitely don't use my serger to it's full potential. Will this series cover finishing seams with a serger?

On a regular sewing machine, if I was sewing a curve on a garment I would clip the seam allowance on the curve so that it would lay flat when I turn the garment right-side out. How does that principle apply when using a serger? Since the serger cuts off the excess fabric - which I love - how would I "clip" that to get a flat line, or is that even necessary?
@carolynrogers15102 жыл бұрын
It’s not really necessary, just press the seam to the outside edge of the curved seam, especially on knits it’s all trimmed and sewn in one.

so when you are attaching a ruffle to a pillow with a gathering foot, would you use the same technique as you do going around the corners?
@Jeanniebugg2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for this! If you're just using a single needle, can you just keep the needle in the fabric and pivot the piece for the corners (like we do with a sewing machine)?
@SewingPartsOnline2 жыл бұрын
You're so welcome. In answer to your question, unfortunately, no. It will not have a nice corner and it would have the potential of unraveling.

For the outside corners, how do you handle the loops of the thread chains? Do you cut them in half (so you have two tails) and then tuck them into the tow corners? A video showing how to handle and finish off the three looped thread chains would be really helpful.
@SewingPartsOnline8 жыл бұрын
Hi Harriett! For the corners, I usually tuck in the loose ends.
@hrdemerson8 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much for your reply! And to clarify, do you tuck in the 3 loops like a normal single tail? I tried tucking in the loops and they seemed bulky. Thanks!

For corners and curves, were you working with both needles or one?
@SewingPartsOnline7 жыл бұрын
Hi! I believe I was only using one needle. I find a more narrow stitch width is easier to maneuver.

Could you please make a video about seam allowance? I'm sometimes sewing in the air, when I don't use the knive and its so hard to sew straight :( I have a Gritzner 788 and it's really hard to see, how to make a common 1-1,5cm seam allowance.

Hello, did you take the blade off for these? Also this is one needle, correct?
@SewingPartsOnline2 жыл бұрын
Hello! No, the blade was not removed. If you don't want it to trim, you can disengage it or remove it (depending on your machine). As for the needle, yes, one needle was used. If you want a wider stitch, use the left needle; if you want a narrower stitch, use the right needle. I hope that this helps. :)

You are misinformed. Sounds like you are anti 1st Amendment; you want everyone to agree with you and to censor opposing views; that is the basis of a Totalitarianism attitude.
